Looking at 718 options at the moment (also dallying with a 981 GTS, but that's just budget creep! £95k at Solihull anyone?!).

Really undecided on whether to go for something like:

Yellow, black interior
Miami blue (love it! but £1600 (I think?)), black interior
Agate Grey (really like, but it's g r e y … (see below)), with a black/red interior.

I have always/forever wanted a 2-seater with a red leather interior (Marmite, I know), and I also really want a Porsche with a bright exterior (not grey, black, dark blue, ie. resale colours) exterior.

But I realise that a red interior doesn't go with a yellow or Miami blue exterior!! Aaarrgghh, dilemma…

Has anyone gone with the 2-tone red/black seats? Were they a good choice? I like them from the configurator.

Was determined to try to spec it up as little as possible to keep the costs down, and I am not big on in-car gadgets anyway, but PASM, PSE, xenons etc soon add up.

Outside of that, it's probably standard 19s (like them, and 19 is plenty), manual (always), standard seats. But I guess I need to get out and see / sit in a few to get a feel for any must-have options.

If anyone's got any feedback on the red/black seats, and any real-life pics, I would appreciate it. And more pics of the standard wheels would also be good. Thanks!!

So, you ordered the car on 1st Dec 16 and will get the car in August 17? Why did my dealer say waiting time is around 12 months now!

It's 12 months from now .... He ordered in December
I ordered in June ....lock down 20/1
Build 24/2 .... Delivery mid March
Then
Build altered today from 1/3 to early April ...... Won't get it till late April and still no guarantee about that
Total bad joke buying one of these Porsche cars
As I've said before the experience of spending 55 k inc extras has been such a huge let down and soured

My OPC told me new 718 Caymans, if ordered now, should arrive in September.

This is a main London dealer owned by Porsche however.

Personally I'm not a fan of black interiors, especially in a small two seater interior, it's just too dark for me. My first attempt at a spec was agate with two tone black and red leather. I really like red interiors but having had one in my BMW for the past four years decided to go for a change. I did see an agate Cayman with full red a while back at one opc. The agate and red worked extremely well together, although not being two tone it was a bit much for me without the black dash etc. Unless your going to cover the steering column with leather it sticks out like a sore thumb and if you're going for the gt steering wheel that's all black too, doesn't get colour matched like the standard wheel.

I think with yellow, the only sensible option is black, but with Miami Blue I'd go for black and crayon two tone, like the early press pictures of the s. If your going for full leather it's just over £300 to upgrade to the sports plus seats, which is worth it imo.

I did see a Miami blue boxster with red interior and ceramics waiting to be picked up when I did my first test drive st my opc. Certainly a brace choice.

lol, you're right. Their home page http://www.porschesolihull.co.uk/ (the "in the showroom" bit) says twice it is a GTS, but I didn't look at the accompanying picture before, and lo and behold it is a GT4 in the pic!! But as I say it is called a GTS twice in the text! laugh

Does anyone have some pictures of Agate Grey leather sports seats plus? Is it a good interior colour to go with exterior colour in Guards Red?

I don't want the exterior and interior colours combo to be a disaster when i resell the car lol. blabla

Hmmm ... red and yellow aren't atonal so should go together ...

Kinda works I think.

Definitely a fan of a racing yellow Cayman whatever the interior though.

Sorry about the pic quality just snapped in the rain on the way into the house:

FWIW I like the inverse of the chrome Porsche on black that it gives. As I said though, not for everyone but one little change that I really like and which makes mine a little more individual.

Thanks for that ... another non-essential option but I am starting to think it looks good ... but it is the little finishing touches that makes buying new worthwhile.

Love the racing yellow on the standard 19s. Is that standard ride height? (PASM lowered?)
