Cheers mate. Thanks for taking the time to explain.
So would you say Porsche were trying to make the 981 look wider and lower than the 987 using these same techniques?
Hmm could be but I think also Cayman's 981 design has been mainly also influenced/controlled by Tony Hatter (the designer of legendary 993, his mini video below )So would you say Porsche were trying to make the 981 look wider and lower than the 987 using these same techniques?

Of course there were massive similarities with Boxster design but I think when it comes to coupe, he did his influences by also referencing Porsche 904.
- The first Cayman, 987s, basically designed by Pinky Lai, so it's a very different team/effort, imho.
- The first boxster 986, also designed by Grant Larson, main influences of course 550.
It's also a lot of different teams, I think they would have serious affects on these cars in addition to other factors like economics, technology, regulations and etc..
Another fun video by Tony Hatter, describing cayman and 911's main features while he's sketching

I think these machines are also simply reflecting different eras that they belong to. Cars just like other consumer products must sell for commercial success in order to fuel it's existence. The wider, more aggressive/ louder or creases are just telling us where our society (in razors & cars case, modern gentleman) is at the moment and where we might be heading towards.
Good thing I can still find a rarely used Braun from 1950s on ebay..
Bad thing, probably most of us can not afford a 550 nowadays!
Anyway, I love these cars in daily traffic rather than studio environment.

It definitely looks better than the 981, softer for sure.
The strip at the back IMHO tones down the higher narrow look of the 981.
There's a picture on here somewhere of a 987 spyder beside a 981 taken from the rear- it really empathises the narrow high look. Granted the low hood on the Spyder gives an extreme comparison.
Anyway the 718 is a good looking car/Porsche!

It's not your posts, it's your supercilious condescending superior holier-than-thou attitude where you present yourself as the PH authority on all things Porsche and denigrate and antagonise those who disagree with you or have less knowledge than you.
Why do you do that? Does it give you a buzz?
You know in that last post you almost sound reasonable. Why don't you try being like that everyday?
You don't need exclusion, you just need to stop being an utter .
Can you do that........?
