Looks like best value, ceramics are nice and I like green. PCM on 987 is terrible, your Garmin will be much better.
No radio at all
No AC
No Sports crono

prob the press car with those options and PCCB's and while that's no bad thing I own the spyder press car with the same options, as I wanted the lightest car possible and it's a 3rd car + keeper so having no radio seem kina cool and no AC in a open top a non issue, to have those missing in the coupe is a much bigger issue imo.

No radio at all is a killer for most, add in no AC in a coupe and it's a tough sell going forward.

it's the lightest spec R you will find for a drivers machine though, check over revs and PCCB life.

Hmmmm, some good points...

Are the bucket seats retrofittable?

The HR Owen car has gone...
Buckets ar retrofittable, problem is the cost. You're looking at several £K for a pair of genuine seats!

Buckets are about £6.5k so pricey.

The R does not need PSE, it sounds just great as it is. The PSE of a mate's measured 110 db at Oulton Park and therefore you can't use it on track days (my standard exhaust only just passed at 104 db), so it's only of use for wanting to be noticed.

Echo much of the commentary here but in particular the satnav. It's an utterly horrid unit which I swear runs the ZX Spectrum OS - except lower resolution and slower. smile I hated it so much, I removed it and had the storage insert put in.

The problem with the R is that with aluminium doors, there are no door pockets and you can store precious little in the centre arm console. There is a shallow but very deep storage tray behind the gear stick but it's so easy to lose/forget things in it and you have to shift the gear stick to get to it. The binnacles behind the driver seat are not ideal either. If you buy a car with sat nav, swap it out for the storage bin. If you have PSE, you don't need a radio.

LHD is irrelevant mate, they trade at around the same price as UK RHD cars.
Demon here is the car if you are interested.
It is a LHD Swedish car but clean and low miles as far as I have been informed. It is well below market value but worth a punt if you are doing it for the right reasons. If not, I know of a cracking 2007 7.2GT3RS with a bit of a wild side if your swingers are big enough wink

The CGT is keeping me proper busy mate, full rewire, many panels repaired/re-sprayed, a few poly bushes, re-trim, a few little tricks I have thrown in for good measure...
It is starting to look lovely and I'll be sad when it has to be given back to it's rightful owner.

If I were you mate, I'd buy a 2.5 986 and spend 20K on it to make it proper mental. Or pay me a visit with either a 996 or 997 and I'll send it back to you, dripping in everything you could ever wish for in 911 perfection wink

We've had this discussion before, 9x7 gen 2 or nothing... I've no doubt you could make it better when I get one, I'll run it standard for a year first. Then we'll talk.

That RS sounds rather underpriced, still 3 x my budget though... grumpy

" I'd rather not pay over £40k for one"

I'd stop looking now buddy, you're not going to find the spec you're after (unless it has daft miles) at this price point. Ticking all of the boxes (and you'll never tick all of them) means £45k+ The JZM one is the nearest to perfection you'll find on the market at the present time.

Happy hunting.

JZM car looks good to me! And the one I would be leaning towards!

Sack off the nav idea, it's wk. For the one time you might use it a year, you'd be far better off with your phone and a GPS nav app.

MUST haves for me, and a lot of others I would guess, are (in order):

Buckets
PSE
Spyders
Manual

I wouldn't have looked at a car without these personally.

Then if it didn't have it, I'd retrofit sports shift and sports mode.

AC was also important to me, and I have used it many many times in the little miles I've done so far. Xenons were also high on my wish list.

Agree..

I have just sold my 18,000 miles White one with "Buckets, Manual, PSE, Black Spyder Wheels, 2 year OPC Warranty, Xenons, ipod interface and Sports Chrono" for very north of £40k (private sale)

£40k will get you a higher' miles car (35-40,000+) or a lower miles with no spec.
