Went a bit "off piste" with the interior.

All black interior but with Racing Yellow seatbelts and dials. Dealer hates it. Wife hates it. Daughter hates it. I love it!

I'll gladly upload pics if it won't make you all ill. laugh
I will be very disappointed if you don't post pics. I test drove a yellow 718 Cayman with yellow seat belts, yellow dash inserts and yellow dials a couple of weeks ago. Wouldn't be for me I don't think, but actually looked a lot better than I expected.

Hi Keith,

I won't be able to take delivery until Thursday at the earliest due to work commitments, might even be next Weekend, so it'll be in the compound.

Fill yer boots! thumbup
I'm willing to call your boss as a bogus customer demanding an urgent meeting (near your OPC)

lets talk wheels.........lol

I looked very hard at the 20s and 19s - and none of the designs did it for me, Probably because I always loved the Challenge wheels I had on my 430. everybody says the ride is worse on 20s, and 19s are the best compromise - yet they did not float my boat, sadly.

But I do know the BBS CH are exactly the same as my Challenge wheels, and they do a lovely black / satin version.

on the other had the 18s look just fine, and with options already at 10k something had to go.....
Ive got 20's on my 4 series gives a very harsh ride anything but perfect roads

Try a 781 on 20", with or without PASM. The ride is truly impressive. I'm still going with 18" on mine, but just saying...

If Coxey is referring to a BMW then other than the diameter of the tyre any comparison of ride and suspension is spurious. confused

Run flats and m sport suspension make for a harsh ride.

PASM and 20s or 19s is a totally different experience

You Sir, deserve a pint. bow

What's more frustrating is, until 6mths ago I worked about half a mile from my OPC.

I now work 30 miles away!

I have placed a deposit for 718 Cayman last week. I cannot decide whether to go for Racing Yellow (with yellow seat belt and yellow internal trims) or Agate Grey (with red seat belts).

Well I went for Agate grey with black/crayon 2 tone leather, black seat belts, have not seen the yellow in the flesh but with black wheels should look petty cool !

Welcome to the Mad House.

Quite a few of the launch spec demo cars at OPC at the moment are Racing Yellow with all the yellow bits inside.

Worth a look if you haven't seen one in that spec yet.

Either of your choices looks great IMO.

I plan to keep the car for a long time. I am wondering whether yellow (or any non-metallic paint) will fade in long term??

Hi Keith,

Originally decided to go alcantara again as I still love it in the Boxster (and it's free!).

However, my wife loved the 'sports seats plus' in the 718 we test drove and said I'd be silly not to have them, even when I told her they were £1200+. So ended up with Black leather sports seats plus.

The 18's look good, they would be my choice.
Porsche have really sorted the back end on the 718, it always looked a little odd to me on the 981, especially when the spoiler was up.

I should really stay away from these threads as it is making me want 1 more and more.

Should have waited for the GTS to appear - if it has anything like the spec of 981 GTS you get sports seats plus and Alcantara as standard!!

I'm waiting for a GTS - though the OPC is insisting it'll be 2 years away! Not the end of the world, seeing as I can't get a slot for a 718CS until next September, anyway...

I'm a fan of alcantara - and think it looks a bit more up-market than the sport tex.

I love it in my BGTS, much less slippery than leather, very hard wearing (I had a Skoda with alcantara, after 60k miles it was still like new).

My S was due for delivery on 5th Nov but allegedly delayed in "Customs" for the last 10 days and still there . Meant to be going to Reading for PDI first so possibility for this coming weekend, will have to wait and see

Shouldn't take long once 'customs' are sorted.

I had contact from my OPC last Monday to say it was 'at sea' and it arrived at the dealers on Friday.
