Agree. Actually, the wood veneer trim can work really well on the Panamera/Cayenne/Macan, in the right colour combinations. But, not on the Cayman/Boxster/911 - and never on the steering wheel - save that for the Lexus.

If you like it, go for it. Just remember the market in UK is small and conservative so will be hard to sell.

Hi there
I'm close to lockdown( I hope) and have spec'd a 718 Cayman in graphite blue with crayon and black leather carrera classic wheels etc and the trim in carbon and the multi function steering wheel
However my girlfriend who has an artistic eye says the wood is a contrast with the black and white and will look a lot better than the blending in carbon
I must admit the wood looks classy and maybe for a Rolls or Bentley or older bloke but it still makes the car " different"
The OPC salesman has said its not a great idea but I keep considering it
I would value other people's input on it
Thanks
As Sir Humphrey Appleby in Yes Minister might have said choosing mahogany trim "would be a very courageous decision"

Each to their own of course but my view is it would look totally out of place.

I swore mahogany to Mrs Rat on our wedding day, and she is quite trim.

another perspective:

I have wood in my car. It's a dark ash grain anthracite dark wood. I like it. Suits the car.

Sorry, just saw this is the Porsche forum. I am talking about my 7 series BMW LOL.

In a porsche: Carbon = yay, wood = nay.

OP, are you familiar with the term "whipped" ? smile
I suggest you politely (but firmly) tell your O/H to stick to choosing soft furnishings, handbags, clothes and shoes. Speccing car interiors is a blokes job, always has been, always will be.
Failing this, you may have to resort to doing what the previous poster suggested. eek

OMG this looks awful...

To the OP - dont do it....Carbon or anything else will be a better choice.

Wooden trim in a Porsche is like pouring custard on a steak.

Wrong, wrong, wrong
