TBH most options will appeal to someone as we all like different things and value certain bits of technology over others. I also like the mahogany paint (it's quite popular in the USA I believe) but doubt if I would choose it over some of the other colours, choosing paint is the thing I find hardest as Porsche cars look good in lots of colours. Like others I don't think much of entry and drive, and regard the various bits you can get covered in leather and wood trim to be a waste of money. Lane change assist is one I'm considering, on my test drive in a 991.2 I will consider how much of a blind spot there is - hopefully none or very little then I won't need the helpful warning lights, but they must be a boon on cars where there is a large blind spot. I bet most of us have had to cancel a lane change at the last second as someone behind has also made a move just before you.

Can you not get the air vent slats (and surrounds) in leather like you can on the Cayenne? Surely that's the winner here if you can smile

The steering wheel casing and seat belt holder in leather?

I can see the merits of connect to get Apple CarPlay as you can get Nav via Apple Maps instead of speccing the expensive Sat Nav and Connect plus.

14 way memory seats, absolute pain in the arse. Who would spec them when you could have the much better sport seat plus seats at a fraction of the cost.

I have disabled the memory option anyway, and the comfort access.

While we are at it, online services - apparently I can stream music and get the weather etc. on PCM via the Aha app.

Body coloured key surround.

There's nothing really wrong with it but at that price?

Just a bit of fun, influenced by the amount of time I have spent on the configurator with my 718 Cayman S order, but I have been a little surprised with the sort of things you can add to a Porsche in the form of options. So what are the most inappropriate/bizarre options available for such a car Standard options only. Personally think things like 'lane change assist' are pretty surprising. Surely individuals who order such cars will put the effort in to understand which lane they are in? Maybe the wood bits, strange to me, suitable for jaguars etc ... thoughtsthumbup
Are you getting a 718 Andy? New toy for the weekend?

The demo Cayman I had the paint had chipped off the key where it goes in to the ignition after only a few hundred miles 😂

Porsche Oxster made me laugh - oxster is a dialect word for armpit in Northern Ireland and to be honest I'd rather keep my key in an armpit than one of those.

Only way, I would think. You won't be getting a silly boot rack, and you aren't going to fit a bike in unless it's in 1000 pieces.

What about the aluminium 'look' filler cap?

I'm sorry, but for £90 I'd want a proper aluminium one, not something that just 'looks' like it.

Mind you who ever sees it anyway?

Complete waste of cash.

(Had them on my 911 which was a demonstrater).

They can also be had in leather.

Painted Key. Rubbish as it chips.

Carbon illuminated door trims

Leather seat backs and coat hooks.

I think these 4 options amounted to ITRO £3,000.

Seems I may have hit a chord, some of those are classics. Didn't know just how crazy you could go. We're all very different that's clear.
