Nice post. Very bumpy, Rockenfella one of the very best 911 drivers in the world.

What a delight, lovely precise shifter on that thing, and a cracking whine from the cut of that box. It seemed quite short but he even dropped it down to first for one of the bends.
Thanks for sharing wink

This is going to sound really stupid, but is it normal for race drivers to drop down through the gears sequentially like that? Amazingly quick feet from him, I always just brake down to the relevant speed and change into the right gear, do other amateurs do it sequentially or is that the preserve of the very best?

The driver says he found it enabled him to lose more speed, more quickly by downchanging sequentially.

If you have a good heal toe technique, it's often quicker - especially on big stops.

How confusing. Either way, I'd expect Patrick Long to be driving during that period and he is one of the very best.

He's being gentle. If he was flat shifting in sprint race mode you really would be cringing. He's driving it in endurance mode. Nice work

He has more speed than them.
Great driving, but he is in a faster car. Even I could do that.

A pre sequential 996R / RSR is no quicker than an early 997 cup. on saying that, id expect a higher standard of driving from the other drivers on the grid.
