I'd be inclined to think the car has PSM (Porsche Stability Management - all cars have) rather than PASM which allows a Sport mode which allows a stiffer RANGE of damper settings (depending on road surface and driver behaviour - even the Normal mode adjusts to those factors, with the PASM option)

If I was bright enough to cooy a picture or attach a link then I would try but its the car at 911box.
I've checked the Boxster pics and it has no PASM (no button on the centre console) and it looks too high for X73 sports suspension. It has standard passive suspension but Sports Chrono, which is an unusual combination.Twinfan said:

Are the standard dampers much worse than the adaptive or is it that they are just preferable? I am coming from a mini jcw on run flats so I am expecting an improvement!
There's nothing wrong with the standard dampers, but you will definitely get a firm ride on 20" wheels, PASM gives a much more comfortable ride in normal and even in Sport is quite useable most of the time. (because it varies the damping depending both the road surface and how hard you are pushing it. Having got it at the moment, it would be a must have option for me.Twinfan said:

I'm not sure it's that unusual. I saw many more 981 with chrono than pasm when I was looking. Chrono gives you a number of features regardless of pasm, some people also seem to prefer the passive suspension over pasm in any rate.As started though pasm gives a much more complient ride on 20" rims, so ensure you are happy with the ride quality before you commit.
I think the 911Box car has been for sale for a few months if its the Silver one. I've been looking for the right 981 Boxster for some time, and I thought my luck had changed as I live very close to them, but then I saw that it didn't have the PASM button. That was enough to put me off.
In the end I found the right spec 981 at Ashgoods, even though very few details were listed in the 'Due in' section of their web site. They were great to deal with and seem to sell lots of cars. If I was in the market again I would be talking to them to see what they've got coming into stock so you can get to the front of the queue... I've got no connection to them btw.
