What on earth are you talking about? That statement isn't true at all. Basically, you can say all opinions are equally entitled to be held, but not equally valid or correct.
Moose has changed the word "prefer" I used to "believe". Of course if you "believe" that either colour is INTRINSICALLY better than the other, you would be an idiot and might try to convince someone of the error of their ways - hence my (serious) comments about racial and religious intolerance. And of course you might argue that green is better camouflage than blue - but I doubt that would cut much ice.
Hence I might (and do) much prefer the sound of 981 over a 718, but I cannot sensibly argue that someone who genuinely prefers/likes-as- much the sound of the 718 is wrong - there is no rational basis for doing so.
In my assessment from how I see the world, the 981 is a better sounding car compared to the 718. I can understand that other people hold the opposite view, they are entitled to have it and it is valid, but to mind and how I assess how a Cayster should sound given my experience of them over the years, they are simply wrong Maybe it's belief and/or intolerance, IDK. But it only becomes dangerous when you try and impose your belief on others: ALL cars MUST sound like a NA F6 or you go to prison etc
Anyway, I think we're picking at semantics here.

I'm convinced you are trolling at this point.Your initial point was that if you think the 718 sounds crap or great, then by definition you think anyone who disagrees is wrong.
I think that anyone who disagrees has their own subjective reasons for doing so, as there is no way to objectively measure sound in this example. I don't think they are wrong anymore than I think I am right.
There is no right and wrong, only subjective opinions with no objective supporting evidence.
Do you understand?

You are assuming that the words "prefer" and "believe" are synonymous, which they may be in your world, but aren't in mine. When I say I prefer blue to green (which for a car colour, as it happens, I generally do) that is exactly what I mean. Period. If, aesthetically, you prefer green, that for me is just as valid. For me it really is that simple. No ifs buts or maybes.
I neither need nor wish to obfuscate or misrepresent my views by cloaking them inappropriately, in psychology terminology - and I wish you'd do the same.

Stop using the word belief. I said prefer, I mean prefer NOT belief. Trawl my postings and you find that I almost never post on the interminable threads about car colours or (purely aesthetic) trim options. Simply because I regard it as ludicrous to ask what others think about the aesthetics (as opposed to the functionality/durabilitiy) of a particular car configuration . And I have not the slightest interest in what others think of the aesthetics/trim of my car. Why? for precisely the reason I keep on stating - it's entirely personal and subjective and there are no rights and wrongs that I would attempt argue on a logical basis. (ignoring resale value).

I wonder how the new Jaguar F Type with a 2.0 litre FOUR-cylinder engine is going to sound.
