Hi, would anyone be able to tell me if it is possible to swap an interior including dash from a S2 car, oval, into a 1985 square dash? My interior has seen better days and the later interiors seem more plentiful. I guess seats, door cards and small fittings will all swap, I just don't want to start a complicated or impossible task with the dash!

Even the door cards are different, made to fit up to the later dash. Don't forget that 924 owners are always after the same interiors as well.
All the fabrics are easy to source, so it might be easier to refurb an interior rather than find a good early one. A nice leather-covered dash, re-covered seats etc.

Yes to seats and carpets, no to dashboard and not really to door cards.
The seats will fit perfectly providing that you don't buy a split rear seat. as this will require a bracket fitting to the body. The (series two) seats use two M6 bolts at the rear of the runners to mount, but one of the two holes lines up with the existing mounting hole. They have extra mounting points because the series two seats carry the seat belt buckle - as your car has these mounted on the tunnel, the omitted fastener isn't relevant.
The carpets will fit but the fronts differ in that they come in two parts. The 924 and series one 944 front carpet comes in one piece. You will need to fit a cassette box (which you may have - it was an option) in order to cover the join which was hidden by the extended centre console in the newer cars.
The load deck carpet will probably not accommodate your spare wheel. Some 924s had collapsible space saver tyres, but they were uncommon. A 'boot' carpet which accommodates a full size spare will only be found on a 1986 or 1987 series two car, so youll probably need to change your spare too.
Door cards will fit but they wont match the dash where they join and the colours are completely different. Wiring the series two type window switches to suit will be a pain in the arse too.

Possible due to a non-standard heater matrix and original style instruments (actually white 924S clocks) mounted in an alloy panel.
