Hello everyone,

I'll start by saying that im a young driver, and when I turn 18 Id like to buy my first Porsche. I won't bore you with why etc but they're, in my opinion, probably the best marque that exists. The problem is insurance. While I could afford a cheap 3.2 or 964 I cant quite afford £8000 insurance. So I was thinking of getting a 924/944, does anybody have any advice on what to look for, where to insure it. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each model? How much should I be paying and what mileage range should I look at?

I'm very much set on getting one as I want a car to enjoy driving as opposed to getting around.

Many thanks.

I got a 944 at 20 and really struggled to find insurance at all. The problem is experience with RWD that they look for. Most wouldn't insure me until I was 21. I got insured at a premium with Adrian Flux, which I later renewed much cheaper with Elephant. Now a few years on it's a turbo and with Brentacre at a price I'm happy with.

Thank you, I had a quote of £5/6000 on go compare who are terrible in my opinion, as long as I can get it to under £3000 I'll buy one.
