Can anyone give me their latest experiences on the lead-times for a new Macan Turbo?

My OPC says they have increased allocations of diesels and can deliver these by year end. Petrol S are around 12-15 months and the Turbo has now increased from a 15-18 month lead-time to currently around 18-20 months.

This seems hellishly long and i am wondering if it is to get me to order quickly and then they say 'Hey, your allocation has come in early!' or to convince me to pay over list for a 2nd hand one.

Any thoughts or experiences would be gratefully received.

Get your name down for a Macan GTS. It's been confirmed for this year in VAG annual report, so you should get it fairly sharpish too! Should be only slightly slower than the Turbo and should be the pick of the range in terms of driving dynamics / value.

Hi JP. Dealer has taken my LOI and has said if I order a turbo they will happily switch me into a GTS based on the LOI date given to them a few weeks ago.

I think GTS could be the way to go but I'm old fashioned so would like to see the details before I commit.

That's fair enough, good luck! I really like what Porsche has done with the GTS brand, they are quite often the pick of the range. I'm waiting for one. Mrs didn't like the diesel, wanted a petrol but doesn't want to wait or part with cash whilst waiting, so for once both head and heart aligned on GTS!

i'm interested to hear which dealer can deliver by year end.

i put a deposit on a diesel back in September because there was a 2 year wait quoted but I have since put a LOI in for a GTS as I think this will be the better choice. i do already have a Macan turbo and 7000 miles in they are great cars, and the lead times you quote make me think residuals will be v strong for the petrols for a long time.

Being cynical I wonder if diesel production has been upped because there's a higher margin on these. They only have an audi 3.0 litre unit and performance wise are below both petrols.

Must be an issue of the UK though. Ordered a Turbo early March with delivery early June - but this is Switzerland

Last week, I asked Porsche Leicester for Macan lead times. I was quoted the official line of 12-15 months but was told that it was more likely to be 7-8 months.

Was that for diesel? That is very similar to the lead times I was given as well. Seems to be the Turbo that is slipping time wise.

Yes, it was for a diesel. The only Macan you're likely to get sooner is a 2.0T.

Time is not the major deciding factor. I have driven the 3.0S petrol and decided it's not for me. That leaves me with the Turbo and the dealer has offered me the option to switch the build into a GTS if I like the spec and has noted my LOI so I am further up the queue.

It seems like the Turbo lead times are still 18-20 months which will be a slow painful wait!

I know what you mean. The GTS sounds like the better option for me! However, the 2.0t is basically the EA888, which is presumably tuneable to around 400bhp and also lighter than the 6cyl engines, it could be a great shout if you don't mind the naff noise and lack of warranty!

Any one got any updates on the lead times on a Turbo? Have a friend who is looking lightly used but is worried about residuals, if supply loosens up, as the diesel is probably the more popular option overall in the UK

Asked that question at my local OPC at the weekend, with Macan Diesel 8-9 months, S, GTS and Turbo at 24-months frown

The GTS is just a petrol S packaged with some of the sports and suspension options you can get anyway with the S, so I don't understand why you'd consider one if you've already found the petrol S was not you. Companies like Bramley exist so you don't have to wait for a Turbo, you just have to pay more. They've got a nice new Turbo in stock right now.

Ordered a Turbo in November, collected it last week. Local dealer quoted 18-24 months delivery.

They are out there, go and find them. Belfast had short lead times when I looked, still a UK car with warranty.

Well we did switch into the Macan GTS and locked down the spec last week. Collection should be end of May.

Carmine red and all the GTS goodies and in time to be run in and ready for a holiday in France - happy days!
