The bloke who had it before me must have been pootling round town in it, because when I bought it and exited the first roundabout on the way home I was greeted with clouds of smoke in my rear view mirror and a sick feeling in my stomach.

To my great relief, a few carpet mashes later the smoke had reduced to zero and the colour returned to my face.

It did make me look a chump at a set of lights one day, the throttle cable (remember those?) had frayed inside the cable outer and stuck the flap wide open.

Luckily the fray was near the throttle body and there was enough slack to make a fresh termination.

Apart from a small oil leak on the end of the engine, a holed air-con rad (which I changed myself) - loved it.

I have recently picked up a 2.7 lux in the same colour combination . I absolutely adore it!!
