Anyone have any experience, or knowledge of these? I've just bought one, which I haven't seen in the flesh yet...

May be wrong but I think I saw one once at Motortune so Peter may have some info?

You have no knowledge of a car you've just bought without seeing?
That has to be a fib??

I do have some knowledge of the model, just haven't seen the one I bought, though did some research on it. I'm on holiday at the moment, and it is a genuine one that was auctioned yesterday at Silverstone.

I was just asking if people had more knowledge than me ;-). It's not easy to find much online, esp from time it was released.

I know mine needs a cambelt service and some other stuff but generally good. So if anyone has suggestions on where to send it, that would be appreciated. Will have a look at Mountune and website

Derek Bell's car is a GTS I think, which was later, and rarer (50ish?). GT was 400 cars, 75 RHD as stated.

50K plus (I guess) costs.

Wow ........ Around 5 years ago I almost bought one for 17K and it was a minter.

It was 45k hammer, 50k inc costs, and I know what you mean about prices!
I've done ok on some other cars, and I guess if I keep it for 20yrs it should be worth more.

Euro cars have been selling at €80-90k before costs, inc a Bonhmas one at Spa with more miles and not so nice IMO, so if the bubble keeps inflated for a while I think RHD will catch up although not much in it with exchange rate now!

What a fantastic purchase, congrats! They're very cool cars. What colour is it?

Bought a non-runner 924S last year for £500 to do a charity rusty nuts rally event in, and I absolutely loved the old car! It made me interested in front engined variants of Pork, so this year I bought a 968 Sport which I am currently having restored.

Are you being serious? 20 yrs none of us know if we'll be alive next week let alone in next 20 yrs! FWIW a 944 turbo is a far better drive values aside.

944 Turbo is a fantastic car, but an M030 968 Sport or CS is better still!

Only the very last 944 Turbo S had more power as standard than the 240bhp Variocam 968, and both the 968 Sport and CS were lighter than the 944 Turbo.

Although obviously a slightly breathed on Turbo will gain quite a bit of a power advantage.

and therefor be nigh on untouchable even by more modern machinery smile

Modern doesn't even come into the equation, they are not comparable with modern cars, they're based on a 30+ year old platform after all, so I don't really see the point in comparing them.

A well sorted 944 Turbo with M030 would be a great weapon though I agree.

I disagree. I've driven a 450bhp 944 turbo on slicks. I doubt many modern cars on track let alone a Porsche 911 would be able to keep up. 30 year old tech not bad
