This wont go down well, but people not wanting to hear doesn't make me wrong: a 1991 Turbo is called a 1991 Turbo, not a Turbo SE.
Turbo SE was what PCGB elected to call the 1988 M758 Turbo S. In France Sonauto called it the Turbo Cup. Its full name was Turbo with Special Equipment. Catchy, eh?
Understandably this caused confusion, with people thinking that the M758 car was a Turbo S, so the myth was born that it was the 1989 250bhp model Turbo that was actually the Turbo SE (and I am aware of the recent pamphlet that PCGB printed erroneously referring to the 1989> as the 'Turbo SE' but this doesn't make it correct).
Those doubting me should spend a little time researching and looking at the period brochure and price list. You will see that the car was indeed a '944 Turbo'.
I had an 89 Turbo S and am sure it said Turbo S on the log book. My mate had a 88 Turbo SE (not a silver rose se) and admittedly my memory is going but I'm sure it said turbo SE on the log book. I may be going senile so pls excuse me as it was a long time ago! Not sure what happened after that but I'm aware there was a lot of confusion. I'm pretty sure my 89 car and his 88 car were virtually identical. I know the next year 1990 onwards had slightly different wheels which were not forged and or anodised and a cat but apart from that they were still identical.Turbo SE was what PCGB elected to call the 1988 M758 Turbo S. It brings me into conflict with people by saying it, but if someone doesn't keep reminding hem that it is incorrect then the made-up will replace the truth.
I have already lost the describing normally aspirated 8v cars as 'Lux' argument, despite it obviously being a trim level, with all Turbos and S/S2s being Lux models also...

Some better pictures from when it was freshly cleaned!
And yeah, my car is on the register, but not submitted by me! Nice to find another owner - when i was researching the car before i bought it, it seems as though they're a bit of an elusive one. Very rare, but also largely unknown unless you're 'in the loop'. I certainly didn't know what it was when I saw the ad.
If you email me at martin@944silverrose.co.uk with your details I will update the car details on the register And yeah, my car is on the register, but not submitted by me! The model was designated as "952" by Porsche as opposed to the "951" designation of the previous 220 BHP version of the Turbo.
The power unit, designated M44/52, developed 250 BHP at 6000 rpm and 258 lbft of torque at 4000 rpm. The increase being achieved by adopting a modified KKK (Kuhnle, Kopp & Kausch) turbocharger, combined with re-calibrating the engine management system produced 11.9 Psi or 0.8 bar of boost.

952 is the part number prefix for RHD turbo parts, not a model number. If anyone has a VIN with '952' in it then I will eat my Arai.
M44/52 was a service update and has NOTHING to do with power output. The engine is identical in that respect with changes to belt tensioners and similar. No matter how many times stupid Americans repeat this it will not become true. For a reason that cannot be established they still perpetuate this rubbish even when shown the build sticker from an M758 car - its an M44/51 engine.

In the service book for my 91 turbo on the 2nd row which is model no. it's listed as 952 052. eldavo said:
Pffft - coming round here claiming that your Silver Rose Turbo S cars are rare, remind me how may Zermatt Silver Turbo S's's there were again Martin/Simon????
Too many 3 that I know of but there may be more colour blind fools out there lol
All Turbo S cars are special IMO whether they are the first Silver Rose cars or the later cars with customer colours chosen.
The car for sale by the OP is a rare car as it was one of the last built and sold and has an impeccable service history and again IMO it is one of the best in the Country
