which make/model would be good tyres ( 195/65/R15 V ) for a late 1988 924S, summer type?

Dunlop Sport Blue response i have been thinking about... anyone tried them on a 924S or 944 ? Other good tyres ? not interested in cheap stuff as I tend to corner the car hard ( sports suspension) and use the brakes accordingly too

Barum Bravuris 2,
Decent tyre made by Continental
I have them on one of my 924S's and it's my daily driver, Also give it plenty of stick on the twisty roads and they are fine

My other 924 has bigger wheels (also a 968 engine) that runs on Bridgestone SO2, not sure they come in std size though

Can't comment on actual tyres for the 924 because I have a 928, but I would highly recommend Michelin who have an excellent reputation with the quality of the tyres they manufacture, and certainly the Pilot Sport 2 tyres that are fitted to my 928 do make it stick down and handle extremely well on the road. It no longer tramlines since I changed the tyres which is good.

Take a look at the Michelin website for tyres suitable for your 924, the link is: http://www.michelin.co.uk/

Also note that Michelin sometimes have money back offers running from time to time, and I'm pretty sure they also have various deals at Costco throughout the year.

Barums have been raved about alot and praised by a well known supplier ; I have found them to be OK, but that's about it. That was on a BMW E36 however. It seems the Bravarius is no longer made ;check that the tyres are not old stock if you do buy these.

If it were me I would look at the following:

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance
Toyo CF2 (and I am not normally a fan of Toyos)
Conti PremiumContact 5s (These were great on my Focus and predictable)

Out of the budget tyres I have found Nexen CP641s to be OK. I would also normally recommend Michelins but it appears that only Energy Saver+s are available in your size ; they have been fine (but I have not really had a bad tyre from Michelin; The Primacy HPs on an old daily were superb but they were rubbish in the snow (as in the car would not really move at all!).
