I seem to remember a 'time not of the essence clause' effectively saying they could deliver whenever the hell they liked. A legal challenge would probably come down to what is reasonable and consideration would probably be given to common industry practice.
Like you, I'm annoyed that I'm spending what is to me a small fortune on a car that is only going to be current for about a year. I never had the conversation about waiting for the new model because my Audi is starting to drop to bits and I really want rid! Also thought the next S Diesel model could end up being a 3l tri-turbo like the BMW X5M, since turbos seem to be in fashion at Porsche at the moment.
Just found this in my contract which states Mid Dec 2015 delivery...Like you, I'm annoyed that I'm spending what is to me a small fortune on a car that is only going to be current for about a year. "if the Seller shall fail to deliver the goods within 60 days of the estimated date of
delivery stated in this order the purchaser may by notice in writing to the Seller
require delivery of the goods within 14 days of receipt of such notice.
lf the goods shall not be delivered to the Purchaser within the said 14 days the
contract shall be cancelled"
Am I reading this correctly in that if I put it in writing that I want my car in the next 14 days and they dont deliver then I get my deposit back and the contract is cancelled?
I will be bringing that one up when talking with Head Office tomorrow for sure!
Hi Paul. I've just had 'the call' off my dealer. Same story, put back by a month. Mentioned concerns around new model, new PCM, depreciation etc. I've asked for a call from head office to try and negotiate some compensation.
What you have written would indeed seem to give us right of cancellation.

Yes I thought that call to you was coming sorry to say What you have written would indeed seem to give us right of cancellation.
Im speaking with Head Office this morning and unless they come up with an unbelievable offer then I am putting it in writing that I wish to cancel.
Looking at the reports on the new model it def looks better, is lighter, better spec etc im sure it will cost more but it gives me another year to save.
I have to say that Porsche dont seem to deal with this very well, they seem to have the attitude that its them thats doing us the favour in selling us a car. When im spending the best part of 100k I expect a little more customer service than this.
I will be calling them in the next hour and typing a brief letter re cancellation. The sad part is that if they had kept their original date then I would have been happy.
Let me know what Head Office say to you.

Never felt more valued! The new Maserati Levante looks nice though...
Ha ha ha yes it does!!!!I looked at buying a Cayenne prob around 8 years ago now but was put off by the attitude of my local dealership. They gave me the impression that I was beneath them and they were doing me a favour so it put me off then. To be honest im starting to feel that maybe this is a Porsche thing and not just a local issue!
With any product costing this much I do expect a certain level of customer service.
Hope to get this sorted by the weekend fingers crossed!
