laugh I've been saying similar for years, and the likes of you and Wozy took exception to it. The Coupe isn't the same car though...
No, we took exception to you being a wind-up merchant who's been derailing 968 threads for years. Good to know some things don't change laugh

I know all this but are you saying that this car that is advertised as a Clubsport is not a Clubsport?
Not at all - I have no information on the car at all. Bear in mind there is technically no difference between a Sport and CS - they have the same VIN numbers.

Nope, I've always said the 968 SPORT is a great car, stick a set of Pole Position seats in one and chuck away the rear seats and it's everything a CS is without the investment bks.

Agree 100%, the CS has only ever made sense of it is a proper non sunroof car with factory options like M030 and M220, thing is cars like that are literary rare as hens teeth.

I know and I agree with you.

What you never seemed to understand is that the market dictates prices and a CS ....... (and is described as such in the logbook) is worth more money than a Sport, no matter how much you constantly decry the CS or compare them in ability.

IMO a 993 is a better car than an out of the box 964, yet prices are comparable. That's just how it is. Whining on about the Club Sport constantly is a waste of time. It's a fantastic (and on paper) rare 968, simples.

Except it's not. A CS with electric windows and comfort seats may be a CS in name but it's closer to a Sport or Coupe in character.

And to think, I sold my Sport in 2013 for £5,700.

As indicated above it would be advisable for any serious buyer to do their research on "Buchanan Motors" before viewing.
sunroof seems an odd option to tick on a CS

Very few without one, the fact this car hasn't got the boot release pull in the n/s door aperture says it has an e release, which on a CS with all the other e parts, means it may well not be a CS, also the fabric of the seat delete doesn't appear to match as well as some others, so I have my doubts and would buy it as a sport. That's just me.

Really it doesn't matter what we say, the car will sell for a number, there aren't many left, so while a potential buyer may be on here debating it, someone else who knows there are only a few will take it for what it is, I suspect the seller sees it that way.

Boot release.......

I dont think the rear shelf is original but suspect the comfort seats are.

Alternatively the original buckets were removed at some stage for practicality reasons and comfort and rear seats fitted. I know of a few people who did this when they weren't worth much

No just always follow 944 threads where you seem to love talking values. U mentioned you'd sell yours at current values. I've had three 944s and have a soft spot for them. smile

That's my old car. The fella who bought her from me (who by the way is a very nice guy) spent alot upgrading the car. When I sold her she was (and I believe) still is a very straight original CS with perfect interior and original paint i.e. no trackside prangs, but was in need of some upgraded/renewed suspension by the time I sold her on.

He installed a cage, harness, LSD, added the Club Sport decals (she came out the factory decaless biggrin) and spent a very large amount of money on replacing and upgrading ALL the suspension parts.

It looks like shes covered around 10- 12k miles since I sold her around 4.5 years ago. She was a fabulous road car and I drove over 10k miles in her in less than two years. Ive seen it at a few track days (Angelsey and the RS day at Oulton amongst others) over the last few years parked up in the Pits, but bizarrely never seen her actually on track. It may be its all show and no go.

I'm a little unsure just what the price of a excellent condition straight (track?) focused CS should be now, but this will be one of the very best on the market assuming it hasn't been pranged since I sold her. Lovely car and as honest as the day is long.

Looks amazing Wozy. How does it compare to your 993 fun wise? I had a 944 turbo se which was a hoot but very expensive to run over 100k miles as a dd. Two 944 S2 too which were excellent and very cheap to run but not as much fun IMO.

Different drive altogether obviously, and I loved it. I always thought it needed another 30hp though, not a quick car but so well balanced a pure pleasure to drive. It felt very planted.

Saying that, the 993 any day if I had to choose.

The advert is a little incorrect, I'm pretty sure the new owner spent around 10k modifying and updating her .... and like I stated earlier, she never left the factory with the decals, just the CS badge on the boot. Interestingly the ad also states 6 previous owners, I'm pretty sure I was the third or forth, so maybe she has been sold on more than once since I sold her. Thinking about it, 45K does seem a little steep, but if it sells at that, then I guess that's where the market is for a spot on CS.
