Macan S & GTS petrol. Waiting times??

Dropped a 3k deposit on one a couple of months back and was told circa 18 months. I'm in no rush but I'm rather hoping it's not this long. Anyone else after one? Heard about build slots? Cheers, Paul.

Thanks. Seems to be getting better. Logic tells me Porsche will wait til the order books are good then run a batch of RHD's. The US and Europe get the lions share I'd imagine.

I was told by an OPC at the end of last week they'd just got some extra GTS build slots....end of this year. I am going to have a look this weekend.

Thought diesels were 6 months, but turbo 12, and GTS and petrol S 18 months. My GTS being built this week.

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear...I was told at the end of last week that "my" OPC had build slots for December delivery for the GTS. Just been allocated some.

Try OPC Colchester. I had a Macan GTS for expected delivery September but cancelled my order after the Silverstone driving day. A nice car but not special enough to replace the BMW M as my daily driver.

Big up to OPC Sheffield! Called me yesterday to offer a build slot on a GTS in September. Locked down spec and confirmed immediately. Happy days!

The SE quoted 2 years for a petrol S in January. I had planned to trade in my 2015 Cayenne S in March 2018, so I put down a deposit on a petrol S in mid Jan. Last week I was offered a September buld slot due to extra allocations earlier in the year and people getting fed up with waiting and switching orders to SD's.

Sorry to jump on your GTS thread ... the Diesel v petrol (non-GTS) ... is the Petrol that much better? (to be clear not a MPG discussion).

I just thought the diesel would be more popular, or am I wrong?

No, I don't think you're wrong Andy. The diesel sales are higher than that of the petrol I think. The diesel is a great (Audi) engine and has massive torque. But it's a diesel. In a Porsche...
It'll be our 'most days' car (well, my wife anyway). I've got a 911 turbo for daft days so we've chosen the Macan GTS as a balance between practicality and sporty.

Petrol S Macans are in short supply compared to the diesel S. Roughly 700 petrol compared to 4100 diesel since the Macan was introduced.

Wow, that's a huge difference. And explains the strong money being asked of second hand petrols.

It seems a boat load of Macan GTS's have been allocated to the UK. A lot of people with deposits down have recently been contacted with build slots. Happy days!

Sounds like plenty more Petrols coming.

Porsche has been firing various cars into UK ahead of schedule since Brexit. It must have something to do with currency options/commitments as they have moved RHD production to the head of the queue.
