Probably daft questions but has anyone managed to get a discount on a Macan S or GTS? And are waiting times still up to 12 months whistle

No discounts. Waiting time for Diesel 6-9 months. GTS can be had much quicker.

That was my experience when I made a semi-serious enquiry late last year - GTS availability was shortest, Petrol and Diesel S were about 9 months.

No discount on the car but I got a good deal on the PCP finance. I got quotes from specialist finance companies who offered lower rates and was going to go for the lowest quote, then Porsche (VAG finance) undercut it to combine finance as well as selling the car. Made a big difference to the monthly payments.

Hi, do you mind me asking what sort of deal you were able to negotiate? Have been in this situation today with my OPC trying to get them to match a HP figure of 4.2%APR over 48 months. the OPC offered a PCP type arrangement at 5.9%APR. This reduced the monthly payments a little but the amount to pay at the end increased a couple of thousand.

I think you can get a bit lower than that from the OPC but maybe not 4.2%. One thing to note with Porsche/VAG finance is that its very easy and no penalties for making early payments/reducing the term....most third party finance charges in some way for it. If that's worth anything to you...

Yes good assessment - my rate is closer to 5.9% than 4.2%. I promised I wouldn't disclose details of the contract, but the benefit of a PCP vs HP is the lower monthly payments and I wanted mine below £500/month on a circa £56k car.

Just do the obvious and get quotes from finance firms that specialise in PCPs, then negotiate the best deal with both them and OPC/VAG. I found they all offer the same penalty-free terms for early settlement. So the only possible benefit of using VAG, whether BS is TBD, is that they said they track market value of each model.and therefore calculate optimum point within the term to flip the car. They commit to contact you just before that time. Let's see. Knowing you're unlikely to go full term means mileage no longer really matters and hence you can further reduce your monthlies.

Thanks for the replies.

"Knowing you're unlikely to go full term means mileage no longer really matters and hence you can further reduce your monthlies."

Yep, this became apparent when doing the figures as I will either flip before the term ends or else but outright so mileage doesn't become an issue and my quote was on 5k per year.

Am interested how they negotiate different rates on PCP if it is a VAG/Porsche product........

I guess a few freebies could sweeten the deal and make me more inclined to go down the OPC route. Time for a spot of negotiating I feel.....

And if you decide to buy it outright but don't want to tie up all that capital in your car then you can finance ithe residual.

Anyone going for a Macan Turbo Performance Package ? Still don't understand why it's not just called a Turbo S .....
Me neither!

I'm a bit late to the party here but for what it's worth I ordered my Turbo Performance last October and it comes in a couple of weeks.

Paul

I ordered mine well over a year ago and I still haven't got a delivery time! Was supposed to be Dec/Jan 17 but now possibly Q2 or Q3 but nothing confirmed.

Is it the Turbo Performance? I think I would be pushing them if you already haven't as it seems they are in limited supply. My OPC only getitng 3 and mine was the 3rd. I upgraded my order from a Turbo when the Performance model was announced.

Good luck,
Paul

Hi Paul. I ordered it as a Turbo on the basis of upgrading it to and 'S' or 'PP' when it was announced. Changed the order the day it was announced, but it appears they have only had one or two and I wasn't 'first on the list'. I bought a 911 from another OPC which caused a bit of relationship wobble last September and I think I may have been bumped back because of that.
Have rebuilt the relationship since and traded the Macan GTS and bought a BGTS but can't get a confirmed date on the Turbo PP. I'm pushing but being told to be patient! Easier said than done. 😂
