As above really. Seriously thinking of a used Macan S but don't want a diesel however reading the reviews it seems to suggest there's little in it in terms of performance and less for the petrol in terms of economy. However, I'm not interested in economy and whilst diesels are fine for what they are they are a little soulless hence going back to a petrol (currently own a 335d Touring). I'd like to hear the engine growl and have a nice burble from the exhaust for a change. I'm reasonably familiar with the brand having owned a Boxster many years ago but I'd be interested in anyone's ownership experiences of the petrol S? (I've got 24 hrs with a diesel S on Thurs but my local OPC doesn't have a petrol demonstrater).

I've had a turbo and now a GTS, and test driven petrol and diesel S. I would say the GTS is the pick of the bunch and if mpg is not an issue definitely go petrol.

They are not huge inside so if there are 4/5 of you it may be too small, but I love mine.

Cheers, just two of us and a Spaniel so space not critical as such. Can't quite stretch to a GTS, as much as I'd like to but the S should do the trick - hopefully.

I was going to order an S but was told there's a 12 month wait! So went GTS and have only a 4 month wait...

if you can stretch to the gts that's the one to go get for sure. Its quite a bit more for the money and residuals are bound to be stronger as there is not the need to load them up nearly as much with options due to coming with a lot more standard equipment.

Driver enjoyment is a notable plus in the GTS due to the chassis changes.

I was going to say there's not much in it performance wise, on paper at least, between the S and the GTS. Clearly the proof sin the pudding and driving them back to back would be the way to do it but are there any other significant differences?

Are all Macan diesels euro 6 compliant? Need to start planning for Sadiq's tax.
