I've just specc'd a new one , petrol that is. I have no time for EV and wanted a last of the line petrol version. Due to be built in April for May delivery. Get in quick if you want one !
Great choice one of the last ice, nice car.
I,m looking for a 2020/21 car and I can tell you they are selling well as I have missed three in a short time frame.

This is great! Some of us simply don’t want keyless.
Or lane departure warnings, sign recognition or blindspot detection etc.
Agreed here.
Yep, its why a Macan was top of my list for changing last year, as all that pointless guff is on the option list, so Porsche remain one of the few manufacturers where you can still spec a reasonable useless-gadget free car.

I bought a fully loaded spec Macan GTS and took delivery about 8 months ago. Will see if I can get a build slot before they cease production but not confident

Neither car had keyless entry...
I know porsche are stingy on options but no keyless? Really...
Why does anyone want keyless it only brings issues solving a problem that doesn't exist

My BMW has it. Before buying it I thought I'll just deactivate it. But, being open minded and all that, I thought: "given I've actually paid for this, one way or another, lets give it a go." (I didn't spec the car.)

Turns out it is actually useful and makes the process that little bit easier. A bit like an electric closing tailgate (another useless option in my book, but which has proved more useful than I originally thought, especially with the wave the foot thingy). It just adds a very small layer of comfort. "Comfort by 1000 cuts" I call it... Would I actually seek it and spec it individually, no.

The only time its particularly useful is when I'm away and the valeter need to access the car, I can lock & unlock the car from wherever.

Btw, at least for BMW, I believe that around 2019 they changed the design of how this stuff works so that the risk of being intercepted was considerably reduced - I "think" (hope!).

Be quick. I've just been given my build date so will have a fully loaded 2020 's' to part ex or sell on depending on how much of a kick between the legs the OPC offers !!

We have keyless and it's great. No need to get the keys out your bag , a concert for my Mrs late at night. We always use a Faraday pouch though.

Think we are beginning to see a Land Rover type disaster with Macan’s becoming stolen on an hourly basis.
My 2000 mile Macan S vanished from outside house in London W9 at 3.40 a.m. yesterday morning.
Vodaphone tracker is completely useless apparently they can cut out the gps transmitter in a couple of minutes.
Ordered without keyless go (for security) ! Keys in Farady box. Non dating reg number so that it did not look new..Stop lock on steering wheel. I did try!
If (unlikely) I can get another Macan insured it will have a Ghost immobiliser, Air Tag and another brand of tracker
I will not let these thieving scumbags dictate what I drive!
Bummer is that I ordered a very individual spec which was magic. Air suspension, double glazing adaptive cruise etc. will never find another.😭
As a matter of interest why are they being stolen. 10 year old model and lots of them in my area. Seems to have just started

But in fairness to Land-Rover, they have been pro-active after seeing their cars became almost un-insurable and fixed the problem on the newer (2023-on) vehicles, and offered to do the fix on older ones as well, and the stats are showing that theft rates of the 'fixed' ones have plummeted. UK manufacturer and a largely UK problem.
But, sadly I can't see Porsche doing the same.

Stats show no change in the amount of Macan,s stolen, all makes have an element of theft unfortunately.

I think the spate of thefts is too recent to be reflected in stats’s?
Vodaphone said they can cut out the gps aerial from the roof of a Macan in under a minute
We’re not encouraging about finding the car.
AXA, (with whom I have been with for 20+ years without a claim) I have just said they will not cover another Macan for me.
I really can see a Land Rover situation ahead and Porsche need to get on it.
Porsche confirm that fitting a Ghost will invalidate all aspects of warranty
Think Air Tags and a complete steering wheel cover are the only options!
Insurance co say the traditional steering wheel bars are useless…..thieves now cut through wheel🤣🤣🤣🤣

Porsche won't do a thing.

ICE Macan is almost at end of production, and this is largely a UK specific problem.

Fairly easy to take the speaker out of the Airtag. You can see how on YouTube.

Not sure. Customers won't be able to get insurance, which was the Range Rover problem. There will then be questions asked about the rest of the Porsche range.

100 Macans stolen in London alone in 2023. Reliable source.

eek

They'll be un-insurable within M25 area by mid-summer if that theft rate is continuing or going up for 2024.
