That's hardly a surprise given the sanctions and spare parts supply problems.

Am surprised that loads are not disappearing from Germany and elsewhere in Europe if that is the case?

Me again!
On 3rd Macan after 2 stolen. Latest car has now got Porsche VTS (completely useless but ins co insist) Meta immobiliser + meta tracker, steering wheel cover and apple air tags.
Have I forgotten anything???????
Worryingly in the last 10 days 2 have been reported stolen on our local Next Door forum (London W9)
Just saying, don’t take any chances or buy an electric car which you cannot give away never mind stealing it??????????????
My Macan T was stolen in London W9 on 30 November 2024. Still waiting for the insurance to get back to me on value and wondering what my future premium might be if I wanted to go for another Macan. It's very disheartening to read about all these thefts and consequent issues with insurers. Not sure I can face the risk of having another high value car stolen, and seriously considering leasing a car from my employer's car scheme instead.

@noslouch - I hope your third Macan is still with you.

I see reports from various places that Cayenne's are also disappearing now as well, so whatever the massive hole in Porsche's security system is not confined to the Macan.

Am very relieved. My insurance (Aviva) came up with a really decent valuation and the money was in my account two days later.

Now getting insurance quotes for a potential replacement. The previous premium was £1,225 for a Macan T. Now looking for a Macan S and getting £2500 as cheapest quote (with higher excesses and no European cover).

Other option is getting a base Macan EV on the company car scheme, which has tax advantage as EVs have very low benefit-in-kind value. 18-20 weeks lead time I am told.

Have a look on the Porsche approved site. Loads of brand new Macan EVs on there that are VAT qualifying.
