for me there is a wonderful zinginess about the 2.7MFI motor. So the IB version of the carrera should be a good cost effective way of sampling the 73 RS experience. Prices though now reflect that sentiment.

My 73 RS rep made me grin every time I accelerated, it was truly wonderful. The resto was a bit dodgy though.

but a later SC knocks out 210 .
203 actually...standard 2.7 is a lousy engine. 3 litre Carrera engine is weaker than the SC's. PS must be on drugs...£27k for a Carrera3?????

SC's are great cars, i used to show one.
They have for some reason always been the cheaper car, compared with a 3.0c or A 2.7c probably because they made 1000's of them.
Still think 20k is too much money for an SC though.

Much as i love the older 70-80's stuff they are pretty st to drive and slow but there is something about them i still like, and i will be in one again soon when i decide to move the GT2 on.

Yup once it's under your skin you've had it.
It's the look, the smell the noise etc

After the 996 GT2 pretty much everything will feel slow wink

Yeah i know Graeme, but if we are being realistic they are just too quick for the roads.
Fancy a 3.2c but a minter no spoiler and some mint 7 and 9's on it and a nice throaty pipe.
Done the speed thing and owned the GT2 which i always wanted.
Probably change my mind again next time i drive it!!

True that actually.
The 964 or the 993 never did though owned both, the IB cars get into your system.
3.2c for me though, want a keeper.

Tend to agree.
Theres a white 85 restored 3.2 on eBay but 18k just been relisted.
Cracking car but maybe viewed as expensive

Bridey I would no get hung up on expensive. Buy the best you can afford. To pay what appears maybe over the odds now for a rot free car in excellent mechanical condition (not saying that this one is) will reap dividends in the end and will look possitively cheap if you buy a bad one. Good cars will only go up in value.

Couldn't agree more, have you read that link on my old car bridey? It'd had some serious money spent on it! I put it on the market the week between Xmas & new year for 25.5 & I got the asking price within 18 hours.

Either buy a restored car (that probably cost the restorer 30k+) or do the job yourself & enjoy the process.

i honestly think you can' tell anything from the photo's in adverts with these things. the worse one i inspected was a 50-odd thousand mile 89 3.2. looked lovely from a distance but it was literally rotting from then inside out. you need to find out more than's just on that advert

Looked at loads like that over the years, and i would say the White Supersport Cab i owned was probably one of the tidiest IB's i have ever seen.

As far as IB's are concerned you can polish a turd.
