Thats on an 83 plate? A replica?Age-related rules were introduced with the registration prefix. Until July 1983 you could re-register your vehicle so that it carried the current registration suffix. Used vehicles were given a current suffix registered number upon first registration here, too.
So: the car might have been imported on a then-current Y suffix, or it might have been imported and registered years before on, say, a T suffix. It may then have been re-registered once, or twice or every year until 1983.
