Hi Andy, if it was a black C2 with RUF 18" Rims and a RUF twin pipe it was most likely mine :-)

Andy
Right, it must have been yours then! Just about the only other 964 I've seen with one fitted (other than mine!)

That was a great weekend! 2006 Le Mans 24hr. Have you been back since? I'll be there again for this years Le Mans Classic in a couple of weeks. Can't wait, although it's a bit longer drive than last time from Bologna!

I've been back plenty of times, up to 2012, last time with my wife, no copilot Dave on board.
Just need to do the classic, but never seem to get the time after I bought a place in the states, but small sacrifices.....

Kevin.

The issue with the 964 (or any air cooled for that matter) is they can get under your skin so you start tinkering i.e. engine upgrades/rebuild, suspension, brakes, interiors etc . Then start looking for rust going from

This

To this

So be careful as they can be more expensive than the wife...laugh

I'm thinking of running a PPI on this Targa... A bit nervous of the non-specialist dealer ad, can't spell Carrera right!

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

1. 1993 cars have all the engine upgrades / Improved DMF, right?
2. Shouldn't K reg cars have teardrop mirrors?
3. Whats a blue interior like up close? Tacky?

My plan would be for a suspension drop/refresh, plus speedline / Fuchs / cup wheels. and a better steering wheel...

Don't confuse registered date, with model year, there are many 93 reg, 91MY, because of the recesion many sat unregistered for some time.

Best check the VIN for MY details, to confirm.

I think it should have an airbag wheel too, but its does appear to have the later plastic plenums.

Worth checking out the chassis number before spending money on a PPI.

I decided to go for a 964 c2 after two wonderful years in the 996 c4s.

Both fantastic cars!!!

Thanks greenhell, the car was on cup2's when i bought it. I initially wanted cup 1's but I decided to go for these 17 inch fuchs instead, they are beautifully made wheels.

How much and where from, may I ask? Genuine Fuchs from Germany?

Yes, they are genuine Fuchs from Germany. You can buy them directly from Fuchs:

http://www.fuchsfelge.de/index.php?id=1&L=1

There are also 2 licensed distributers in the UK, JZM and Design911. I paid £1920.

That car will probably be a MY91. It has the plastic intake plenums, but the rear seats are still the old design for folding the seat backs down. As Kevin said, lots of early cars were not registered until later.
