Thanks Langdale and apologies for beating you. It was pure luck as I was working from home today and saw the ad and immediately called them. I then couldn't track Rob down who is my mate who actually knows something about cars. An hour of panicking later, I got hold of him.
I do have an Arthur Daley coat, so maybe that's why he though I was a dealer!
Oh, and 500 if they are £20 notes .

As they say its all in the timing. Enjoy you bought an honest good example I recon but also shows they are out there for sure and at a fair price.I do have an Arthur Daley coat, so maybe that's why he though I was a dealer!

Great thread. Back in a C2 Tip Targa over the last year and just cant believe I ever got rid of my old one, great cars with bags of feel/character. Mine's engine went bang last night (outside the bar I was planning to meet my other half in , so silver linings..)
Not unexpected at 108k miles and smoking on start (remains pulling very strongly) she is off to Tognola's for rebuild and then this car is for keeps.
That happened to me once... Very embarrassing. I then spent the evening sorting recovery etc and not concentrating on the person the other side of the table. Hope your other half was more understanding than mine? Not unexpected at 108k miles and smoking on start (remains pulling very strongly) she is off to Tognola's for rebuild and then this car is for keeps.
What have Tognola's quoted you for the rebuild if you don't mind me asking?

That seat bolster is a very easy repair. I cant understand why Phil hasn't had it done before offering it up for sale? However I think at that price it won't hang around too long.http://philipraby.co.uk/showroom/1993-porsche-964-...

Not shown on the Jubi Register held in Germany but details of the car,#163 are noted - Owner in Coventry.
Good to see one that has clocked up some miles.

Well the driver's seat certainly looks like it's covered 340,000 miles! Bidding is up to £8,950 as I write.

Not sure! They have been affected by the flooding in Dachet so are not able to look at it until next week, stuck using a Vespa in the interim. The car still drives, no oil on the floor so I am hoping fairly straight-forward..£6-8k???What have Tognola's quoted you for the rebuild if you don't mind me asking?

SS7
Yep I am aware that this is like opening a can of worms and am bracing myself. Hoping that things are going to be straight-forward as I think it was giving tell tale signs of needing top end re-do for the last two months (smoking when cold etc) but was still pulling very strongly until the sudden plume of smoke came out and it actually runs quite smoothly still. Fingers are crossed but whatever it costs I just love the car so it will be money well spent.

Where's Melv these days ?
Better post up one for him then !
Thats his 964 behind my old 944. Castle Combe circa 2009 IIRC, he took me for a spin in it. It was the first time I ever strapped into a real harness in a race car !
Think I was there on that day. Remember your 944 and the 964 cup being parked there anyway.Better post up one for him then !

Torrential rain showers....
I was in my old Fury which was far from ideal in the wet!
Anyway. Here's one of mine I like, taken on a road trip, a tunnel on the Stelvio pass. Straight from camera (I have an editted one printed to canvas on my wall now)
