Hi
I am about to buy a 993 Targa and I'm looking for a garage to look after it for me/service it. I am in NW London and would be grateful for recommendations. One of the places that I am thinking of is No 5 Garage - in Acton. Has anyone used them/have any views?

Grateful for any responses (and picture attached of the Targa).

Vimal

Nice car, saw one just like it at lunch on St. James Sq.

I can reccomend Jaz Porsche in Wembley, they've been going at it for years and know 993s very well.

Enjoy your new car!

Or JZM just up the M1 in King's Langley. You need a well-known Porsche place.

Another vote for Jaz, and also Tognola. Tognola are in Dachet and Peter Tognola owns a 993RS and 993C4S.
I use Tognola and catch a quick train to Slough then £5 cab to Dachet.

I imagine that Tognola's servicing may be good, but as an individual I found him rather unpleasant; this was when he wasn't touting for business, of course, but instead it was in the paddock at a circuit standing next to his red RS.

There is also Porscheworx in NW3 if that's close.

I've used Porschworx and wouldn't go back.

I'd recommend Jaz.

Okay. Mate of mine has his 993 serviced there for ten years but we all have different opinions and expectations! Given the size of their premises it's hard to see how they can compete with somewhere with a bigger operation though.

Thanks all - I'm going to give Jaz a go. failing that then possibly Chris Turner. JZM look impressive - but pricing is almost at OPC levels (and I'm committed to OPC servicing already for my 3.2 and cayenne).

I'm close to porscheworx but had some not so good experiences with them with a 997. Probably not fair to hold that against them as it was around 7 years ago - but memories linger.

Has no-one heard of No.5 garage at all?

Has anyone had much experience with West London based Porsche Torque? Believe they may be used by 911 Virgin which should tell us enough, although first hand experiences would be welcomed.

It wasn't down to the quality of work, it was down to something he did which didn't seem ethical (I won't go into greater detail), I chose to take my custom elsewhere.

Just go to Jaz, they have a great rep & although Steve is a bit hit or miss depending on his mood the bill won't reflect it unless you really are a complete PITA.
As for the one based in the small mews, the less said the better, after all who needs another thread pulled?
And FWIW, Jaz did/does a lot of Virgins work.

I have used No 5 in Acton to service my 03 Boxster S and gained a good impression, They were working on several classics and were rated on Bosch.

Been taking my cars to Sid for the last 5 years back to when he was at RSJ in Slough and now to Porsche Torque which is his own show. Never had any issues myself.

Excellent, thanks for the input. How do they compare to Jaz? (who seem very popular here)
