Been taking my cars to Sid for the last 5 years back to when he was at RSJ in Slough and now to Porsche Torque which is his own show. Never had any issues myself.
Excellent, thanks for the input. How do they compare to Jaz? (who seem very popular here)
I have used Jaz a couple of times for servicing my 968CS (993 goes to Sid, more due to circumstances/timing than for any other reason), and again, no complaints. They also get an extra thumbs up for being nice enough to let me park in their yard when I went to a gig at Wembley biggrin

Sid has serviced my car exclusively since I bought it, he's moved about a bit hence the service book has stamps from OPC WL/OPC Hatfield/RSJ and now Porsche Torque. I live in NW London but make the trek to Uxbridge.

I have had good experience with Chelsea Carrera, who have a base in Clapham/Chelsea but work out of High Wycombe. £165 for a PPI and £550 for a 993 major service. The prices are good and I was very pleased with the level of service they offered. I think they are a small time outfit but seemed to know their stuff.

With the risk of being flamed alive I would actually propose to use Porsche West London. They have introduced reduced rates for classic Porsche and are now competitive with the specialists. For basic service and MOT (which was free) I have used them but for special jobs I have gone to either JAZ or Paragon - but both are not very conveniently located for West London.

I've used Porschworx and wouldn't go back.

I'd recommend Jaz.
Hi G7jhp,

The AA dropped me there today, how come you don't recommend? frown Should i be worried?

My Cylinder 1 is misfiring, 996.

Cheers,

My 993 at Jaz's new place... Have used them for years and cannot recommend them enough...
Have used Sid a couple of time for my old 996turbo too and he is very good too, Jaz are my preference though and now much nearer to me since they've moved

I am on south coast so use Jon Mitchell but I did use Peter Tognola for my 993 Targa roof that went tits up and Jon wasn't able to fit it in quickly. Very impressed with Peter and his american colleague. Genuine enthusiasts, very knowledgeable and very good for classics.

I saw the earlier post about OPCs and I guess it is regional but I just could not recommend any OPC for a 993; few of them have any mechanics that are 993 or 3.2 familiar and I witnessed an OPC ringing Jon to ask a technical question about a 3.2!

Never used Jaz or any of the others mentioned on here.

Welcome to the 993 Targa club. Queue gratuitous opportunity to post picture of mine!!

nice targa - silver and black works well on them. Using mine a lot and still love the open roof experience !

I think my old post has been resurrected. I used JZM in the end - in Kings Langley. They don't do bodywork though - and so I also used an official Porsche bodyshop near Gatwick (SL Restoration) for some corrosion work. I have also recently used Jaz for their pre Christmas underbody wax offer. Good experiences with all - and will stick with JZM for servicing. None are very convenient for NW London though
