My 964 C2 is currently in have a bit of work done to the body (spot of rust on the rear wing, replacing the seal between the nearside wing and screen panel and of course the sport of rust under the windscreen itself. However while the car is in the shop I was wondering whether to have a Martini stripe added (bumpers, bonnet, roof and hood lid), with nothing on the sides, but rather than use the darker blue, just have Red, Light blue and use the original black to make up the stripe. Just the stripe no "martini logos".

Not to wide about 10" running down over the bumpers.

My wife thinks its "trying to hard", but I thought I would get the thoughts of the hive.

Note this will be painted and lacquered in - NOT stuck on.

many thanks

Hi Boxsey, I managed to sort some 928 rear Calipers (£100 quid uber bargain) and they are now all fitted using your excellent Blog on the topic. Thank You.

Why don't you paint it in the original color and get a wrapping shop to put the stripe on for you?
You'll thank yourself should you ever have to sell the car.

Not sure they work on a black or dark car...

Needs to be white or silver.

Put the stripe on then post up a pic! You could do a monochrome version - like Porsche have on some of the 918 prototypes - which will look better on black.

More importantly - spill the beans on this: "Hi Boxsey, I managed to sort some 928 rear Calipers (£100 quid uber bargain) and they are now all fitted using your excellent Blog on the topic. Thank You."

Listen to your wife - she is never wrong.

Darling, I thought about what you said re: the car paintwork, and I think you are correct; no stripes.

With the money I've saved, I'm taking us out to dinner - grab your coat....
You'll thank me later.

Stripes make a car much faster dontcha know ..... I wouldn't get them painted on , vinyl is the way to go , if you get bored with them at least you can peel them off....
Stripes FTW

I wanted to get some 4 pots rear callipers to replace my 2 pots, and Boxsey suggested the rear callipers off a 928 c4. As an alternative to C4 callipers (which are as rare as unicorn poo). I managed to find some on eBay and they worked a treat. Very pleased.

Thanks for the suggestions on the Monochrome option and perhaps you (and the wife) are right. I shall investigate a vinyl option and change it when I tire of it.

Many thanks to everyone.
