On another note you have poor dealers like these trying to sell a G50 Targa (on the register) for £25k!!
Madness.

80 grand for a G50. Yes it's been well restored.

But why not buy a car that's never been knocked out thus had to be rebuilt in the first place if you're in this bracket?

I don't want "rust cut out", I don't want front seats retrimmed and I don't want a full engine rebuild.

A car can only be original once.

Each to their own but I'll take my rustproofed from new untouched G50 all day ta very much. You can't beat the smell of an original 80's 911 interior. Or the way the seats are factory trimmed to perfection.

Ho hum..

Monday is the threads 6 month anniversary and....that silver 3.2 Carrera still hasn't sold!

I think the 430 is tasty, the 360 looks quite Bogeyed when lined up next to it : - )

Newer in case of the E36 or M46 M3 means it's younger so you're more likely to find more good examples (trade off being at a higher price) in better condition.

Not really. The F30 may be newer but it hasn't depreciated yet. Both the E36 and E46 are a long way down their depreciation curve. I don't see E46's going lower as they're such a well regarded M3, have a following already which makes them more of a classic.

I agree with you. It's usually easier to make a larger 100% gain on a cheaper car.

Buying a 40k mile 3.2 Evo for £6k is pretty hard to beat, I don't think you're ever likely to find a 40k mile E46 at £6k, maybe £10k.

I'd expect the E46 to climb higher longer term which is where you stand to make the bigger gain, but a bigger outlay is required. The issue with buying multiple E36's (over fewer E46's) would be finding them and the higher potential maintenance costs.

Why?
Because its about £10+k over-priced.
Its on a CAT C or CAT D.
Some poor sod will buy this.

Everyone to their own I guess.
Its still a written off targa at the end of the day.
None of my previous "old 911's" were crashed all original panels.

72.000 pounds?

Good price imo? Very very rare car - 930 with the G50 5-speed? Lovely.

Its all relative though as it stood me at £29k and I had some spare Fuch 9's to sell on top so not all bad.

I can't keep up with the prices, they seem to be all over the place.

Is this one far too expensive or possibly a good buy ?

£40k for a 1977 SC, that's expensive.

But it is only 70k miles and I like the colour!
