Just out of interest, can anyone make out the date of that tax disk in picture 1.
With my dodgy lamps it looks like it ran out 08/06.
Looks like: 30/11/06.

Hi all,

The below 964 for been on sale for the past month, I'm considering buying it and would like some opinions.
Issues include oil leak (as expected) and interior fan not working. 8 owners with lots of main dealer history.

I'm searching for a decent 964 Targa for below £25k

Drivers window is out of alignment in photo 5, maybe targa top not on right.

Brightwells auctions have a black C4 Targa coming up next week with 85,000 miles

There are lots of reasons for interior fans not working from a simple blown fuse for the rear blower to the front fans being kaput (£1000 to replace both).

I know of a targa that is coming up for sale at around the £20K mark.

The window looks like it needs re-aligning, or possibly that the runner it sits in has rotted away, and needs replacing, causing the problem. Happened on mine, and wasn't a cheap fix.

Think he said storage for 8 years so end of 2006 is about right.

The barn find 964 has reached £19,250. Am I missing something, after purchase price and any necessary works is this a £45K+ car?

What do you consider as necessary works? It may need just a clean, brakes and tyres!

Assuming it sells for around £20K it's highly unlikely that you would need to spend £25K on it. It's not really a garage or barn find, it's just an owner leaving standing it in his own dry garage for a long time.

BTW some of the bidding looks a bit suspicious. At the moment I think it will end up being re-listed as I suspect there is a bogus buyer or two involved.

Not saying spending £25k on top but the resale value a dealer would want to achieve after a mechanical and body clean up. I too think it'll be re-listed.

Some dealers have indeed been listing both C2 and C4 964s at £40K+. Whether they are worth that and whether they are selling are open to question IMO.

I'll try to PM/e-mail you.
