No but the extra cost for a day as a non-member is about equivalent to the annual subscription. So if you do more than one you might as well join as it will save you money. There will be quite a few of us in 964s at the Anglesey track day on Saturday 23 May.

we suggested 30k and told them them we were waiting for an independent valuation from a specialist but it hasn't arrived yet.

they were good with that and said just get in contact when it arrives. if its more or less it wont affect anything according to the lady on the phone.

I will be ringing them next year then as that seems a great price.
I hope to enjoy my car a little more this year as my last two years mileages have been dissapointingly low.
Fingers crossed for a turnaround in the weather soon.

for 4 or so years I've hardly used mine. various reasons mainly time/work/ health.

I decided I need to use it and planned a European trip last year but couldn't take the Porsche. found an issue with rear brake pipe as I was checking it over the day before we were going frown

but i paid a fortune for euro breakdown. had to get a full year and pay extra. so yeah its already a huge bargain.

Ive been doing the odd track day in it uninsured so that's great that some are covered (shame pcgb don't do donnington)

im very impressed and also annoyed I never got my act in gear for the last 6 years just renewing because it seemed cheap.

The mrs phoned clasic line they wanted 330 plus 20 for agreed value. I asked her to get details of track days etc but she forgot. they never mentioned breakdown but i assume its comparable.

for the extra it might have been worthwhile going with clasic line if they covered more track days but time was running out (up today) and loctons were very easy and pleasant on the phone to me and that's a first for car insurance.

Enjoy your track days then Pesty with the knowledge that you will be covered for the full value of the 964. May be worth revisiting this value in the summer just in case you find that a replacement car has risen significantly in value.

The difference in trackday cover is that Locktons will only give cover for PCGB trackdays (included in the cost of your premium) while Classic line will give free cover for PCGB days and cover other trackdays at an extra cost per event (usually £50 per event).

After sending the valuation to the insurance co for agreed valuation they rang me this morning.

Essentially, they are happy to agree the value at £30,000 as this is from a Porsche Specialist. I had requested ,on renewal this year, that they increase it to £25,000 but the valuation came in at £30k so I sent this off.

They are charging me an additional (pro rata) £19 for the additional £5k of cover but that does seem reasonable to me.

I always make sure that any classic car policy I have offers the retention (by me) of the salvage in the event of a total loss.

Update. Valuation came through at 38k ( anybody want a 964 smile )

Loctons agreed to this valuation but pushed the price up another £64 to £328
So still a batprgain considering what I was paying and what benefits I got but not quite as happy as I was /.
