this car was mentioned elsewhere i think. i dont like the exhaust tips and its got a half cage fitted although the seller does seem genuine and its not been tracked or raced, the previous owner had one fitted and the carpets sorted around it. i like the colour of the car and it looks very tidy, but probably not the one for me as yet.

Comments like these make me wonder whether you're serious!this car was mentioned elsewhere i think. i dont like the exhaust tips and its got a half cage fitted although the seller does seem genuine and its not been tracked or raced, the previous owner had one fitted and the carpets sorted around it. i like the colour of the car and it looks very tidy, but probably not the one for me as yet.
Exhaust tips on the 993 can be changed, although it may be a non standard exhaust. A half cage can be removed and sold for profit (all you need to establish is if there is damage where it's been installed).
The comment about not been raced or tracked seems odd as it has a cage.
Are there any reasons other than the above why it isn't for you?

also, i asked the question about track/sprints etc and was assured it hadnt been and the previous owner just fancied having one. it does however raise concerns, as people dont usually do that unless trying to recreate maybe an RSR type replica?
other than that it looks like a very nice car.

But are these your only reservations?other than that it looks like a very nice car.
Have you looked at this manual 1996 993 C2 coupe as it would be varioram and the silver/black is a great colour on 993's?
It's also better value than the previous arena red car (which is a marmite colour) giving you more money to sort any issues. Guess it depends on whether you want a low mileage investment car or a car to drive.

for the red car those are the only comments yes. its very nice. the silver car looks beautiful and again, no reservations other than mileage, i have the budget potentially to get something with a little lower mileage, but 94k as such isnt the end of the world.
Cool. I'd buy on condition, rather than mileage. Decide whether you want or need to pay a premium for a lower mileage car (I've often found cars which have been used have less niggles). Higher mileage car may be better if you want to enjoy driving it without the concern of keeping the mileage down! Then get out there and look at them. I wouldn't post every car up here first or you risk getting beaten to it!
Good luck!

If you're serious you really need to move fast and be prepared to spend some money getting a car up to your standard or preferred spec. I've been looking for a 993 but have been dicking about and being too fussy...so I still have no 993 and prices have gone up by around 25%. Good luck!

I'm watching daily and have emailed a couple of private sellers etc. There's also a car coming in from Jersey to a dealer that looks worth a trip soon. Will have one for summer fingers crossed g7jhp said:

Adding 20K miles over three or four years will make no difference come sale time. Sooner have 125K miles and add 20K, than an 81K and add 20K. You'd just spend all your time watching the odometer heading for the 100K mark, and pay more money in the first place for the pleasure.
History is everything, low mileage is for the garage queen which is fair enough if you want to look at it all day long, and not drive it.
Stop faffing and get it bought ....... 'Don't like the exhaust tips'..... Blimey

Having done nothing but look at cars this month I've seen a couple at dealers for similar prices to the red car that had no obvious issues but had just had deposits taken. Ive also spoken to the owner of a possibly better car that may be up for sale and am just awaiting a test drive and independent inspection but not rushing into a big purchase like this. Silver or blue ideally but that red was a nice change

Fair play ref the cage ...... It was the tips that got me though. Matter of interest have you driven one? It seems your budget is going up. They are not for everyone.
