Do like this. Lovely to lazily cruise around country lanes. I wonder how much it is.

That's very nice and one of the very last 964s. Although, I do think Speed Yellow suits the 993 better than the 964.

I think 964 C2, 3.2 G50 and 993 C2 have always been undervalued when you consider how much more fun they are to drive compared to their turbo variants which are selling for ridiculous amounts. How they drive has nothing to do with how they're valued which i find mind boggling. I suppose they're not bought to be driven sadly!http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...
964 C2 in silver look awesome - Paragon car will fly out as its all about condition in my book.

.. but some enthusiasts I know are now buying the 2nd or 3rd cars as long term keepers. Theyre all wanting nice back to basics cars in their garages that are fun to own & drive . Its not always a matter of new enthusiasts coming into the market. Not saying the silver car for example is good value, I dont think it is, but having tried in the past to find a nice 964 ( i did eventually in Germany ) and having got friends looking for 70's & 80's 911's , there just aren't many nice cars out there.

so a non original colour / 122k miler is asking £60k.........hmmmm. Good luck to them
When John Boggiano owned it, it was an absolutely fantastic example. John was meticulous about it's up keep and is one of the most knowledgeable about 964s out there. I often saw the car at Unit 11 on the lift having stuff re-newed because it wasn't up to John's high standards. The new owner would have paid John very good money for it. To then make a full colour change on such a well sorted car was a very strange decision IMO. Maybe it was to ensure that John didn't buy it back again...because he'd already owned twice! boxsey said:

Does the colour really make any difference? At the end of the day the silver car was at the top end condition wise for 964's. Is it worth 60k? I don't know, the market will decide but several other cars have been priced at 50k and above so its not outrageous in today's silly market.
Of course the sensible thing to do is to give it an engine rebuild, some new paint, set the miles to zero and charge £100k cos it's a new car innit.

Yes, colour does make a difference. If it's sought after and rare. You only have to look at 997.1 GT3 RS in Viper Green! Of course the sensible thing to do is to give it an engine rebuild, some new paint, set the miles to zero and charge £100k cos it's a new car innit.

My point was simply that colour doesn't make a car a good car, nor does it change the fact that its not the original colour. Gassing Station | Porsche Classics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
