That's very nice and one of the very last 964s.

Although, I do think Speed Yellow suits the 993 better than the 964.
Spoke to T9. Sold for full asking price £85,000.

Not surprised. I thought it looked a tad cheap...

T9's phone melted on the yellow 964 C2 at £85,000 and they could have sold it a few times over. I'm surprised as Brunei origin cars are never properly maintained until they reach the UK. Beautiful car in speed yellow nonetheless.

I can understand why 964's are commanding strong money more than G50 Carrera 3.2 as they're much rarer. Prefer the G50 Carrera as a drive myself.

Put some decent suspension on your 964 and it transforms the it drives. I hated mine before I put Bilstein pss10 on and a decent set up

I know what you mean. I had two 3.2 Carreras, two 964s and two 993s - all bought new in period, and used as my only/everyday - 12-15k mls pa.

Fast-Forward 20 odd years and I wanted to re-live the fun of those '80s/90s 'aircooled' 911 days and bought the nicest 993 I could (a C4 actually). Terrific car, but almost too good. Re-visited the 3.2 and 964 and it was the 3.2 G50 for which I felt the most affection. Not necessarily the better car, but the quintessential raw 'aircooled 911' - lots of character and just perfect for days like today.

However, if I wanted a 'track car', I'd go down the modified 964 route- which is where my first 964 C2 ended up.

I can see the desirability of SY 964. There are buyers who will want a very original, low mileage, late model aircooled and pay a premium for the privilege.

Late 3.2 is also my favourite as it offers the right mix of rawness and power. If you did find an 89 3.2 with less than 25k genuine miles in a desirable colour expect to pay over £85k though so definitely not any cheaper than a 964.

As for colour change, I would pay more for a longhood if the original colour was something undesirable such as sepia brown was changed to something desirable as long as it was done properly (bare chassis). I expect 964 in Guards red is similar, not because it isn't nice but due to sheer numbers as most 964 that come up for sale are Guards red. Of course if you already have a rare desirable colour to begin with then it will command the highest premium.

Quite nice colour combo. Wrong wheels though. Is LHD worth more than RHD?

LHD is 'better' than RHD though wink

Wether one is worth more is a different matter. On the continent 964's do seem to be commanding more money than the uk market

Lovely but won't be long before time warp ultra low mile RHD 964 C2 are £100k in UK. I'd love to own the white targa - retro cool personified.

You are probably correct on the price for very low mileage cars but they are inherently unusable and low miles is simply no guarantee the car will not need work. If that includes paint then the value takes a hit.

I prefer to drive my 964 to my 997GT3. Perfect little hooner. It held its own at Spa against much more exotic machinery. What a shme they are becoming so expensive to buy

Not a C2 but a flatness turbo. £625,000

http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/buying-mai...

They have regular 964 turbo in grey for circa £500,000

I'd have one but no sports seats nuts

I agree Adam the standard front end looks much nicer. The silver 3.3 964 turbo S with bright red interior earlier in the thread belongs to same collection I think - OPC Swindon sold it for £750,000. I believe the collector has another del miles 3.3 964 turbo S tucked away amongst about 50 other very rare del miles cars such as ultra rare Fezzas. etc.

The reg del miles slate grey 964 3.6 turbo is also from the same collection!
