Thank you Steve, condition looks tip-top wink A great find, even if you did have to bring it from the other side of the world wobble

Thank you Richie. Yes I am very pleased with the car. Paul Mclean is very good at sourcing these old busses. It is a very low mileage car but I did not expect it to be this clean.

Ha! looks like it too.

What sort of times would a 964 with a track orientated set up do around spa?

Also, where did you get the stainless steel towing eye rrom?

The best I managed was 3 15 but that was limited more by me the driver, the car is capable of something closer to 3 minutes with a good driver. Sean Edwards could get a 964RS round there comfortably in 2 55.

The towing eye is the Rennline item. I bought it from Design 911 which was just as cost effective as buying it direct from the US. Link to towing eye:

Under 3 minutes is pretty good for 250 - 300bhp.

Thanks for the link on the towing eye. I'm still undecided on tyres - waiting for some feedback on the new Toyo's before i make up my mind. Have any of you guys tried them?

Steve my friend has them (R888) on both his 3.0RS and his 964RS. With the 964 he is doing 2.21min NBR GP circuit lap with R888's

Hi Richie

I'm not familiar with the relative lap times around that circuit. How do they compare with the old Toyo's in terms of lap time?

My Toyo 888s (year old) held up really well. It was approaching 30 degrees air temp at Spa and I ran them 32 psi hot all round. They coped easily with 20 minute sessions in the heat. Ken of 9E was blasting around all day too but I didn't get chance to ask him what he thought of the 888Rs.

Here's Sean Edwards driving Ian Reynolds' beautiful 964 cup on 888s back in 2010:

Impressive. What mods does that car have?

Sean was one of the best 911 drivers that I knew and a good friend. I still find it hard to accept

Absolutely stunning Steve lick
When you get bored of it please let me know wink
Spoke to a friend today about your project and he mentioned that 8" on the front and 10" on the back will fit the 964 no problem. So if you are looking for more traction perhaps there is a little scope in your wheel/tyre width if you are running narrower than this.

Thanks Richie. Actually the footprint is probably good enoug with 215 at the front and 255 at the rear. I will probably run 225 and 265 and do some testing to get a balance
