So, was wondering if someone can guide me & help me out - I am looking to sell my beautiful 964 cab but having a hard time trying to figure out where the market is....I know she is not the desirable coupe & some may frown at her slightly high mileage (circa 143k) but she is a excellent knick with no engine issues (a dealer did a compression test ans she is only down 4% or so), body work is good; interior & hood are new as is the suspension & geo setup....all the work done on her are by the masters of their field

But looking on line, there seems to be very few private sales but some of the dealers are flying a kite with some of their prices so not really sure if they are clearing any of their cars? So am trying to figure out what is fair value for these cars & if there are genuine people out there looking for one like they would for a coupe or should I save myself some hassle & give her to a dealer (I have a bid but unsure if it is fair)...

Thoughts anyone??

Some specialist Porsche dealers have marked up their stock high enough to not worry about making regular sales. Williams Crawford seam to have stock sitting around including a 993 they've been trying to shift for over a year.

On the private sale side, high milage coupes are going from between £19k - £25k with sale times of around 6 - 8 weeks. Anything around £30k and above is not selling.

This hasn't answered your question on cab prices but I hope gives you some food for thought.

What have you been bid in the trade? Add 25% and stick it in the classifieds on 911UK which are still free.

Have you thought about putting it into a classic car auction?

Just spotted this on 911uk, Cat D priced at £19,500. http://www.911uk.com/ads_item.php?id=6124

thanks guys - it seems like 911uk.com is the best place to start - these dealers with their long term inventories is making it hard but will put it up on the 911uk website at a sensible price and see what happens...

Based on the 964 cabrio (non runner) that went on ebay recently for around 21K, I would have said it should certainly make somewhere north of 20k, but wouldn't expect it to make as much as 25k.

There is a clean 964 Cabrio in grey with almost the same mileage as yours coming up in my local auction in 2 weeks, if you keep an eye on it and see what it makes that should give you a really good guide to what yours could make. Auction link is

They are selling some cars over £30k. Sent mine there on brokerage. 964 coupe tip, 1992 with 62k miles. Sold for £40k within a month, and I got £10k more than I paid them for it 3 years earlier. Adrian and Richard are great guys to deal with.

To be fair that sounds like lovely low mileage car. Not comparable IMO. If it wasn't special Adrian wouldn't have taken it back in.

I know of a few nice 964 C2 manual Coupes that have sold recently in the £40K region ... so to say that cars over £30K arent selling is misleading

depends what you class as high mileage .. 100K + cars are selling over £30K

mileage is only part of it though ... there are some absolute dogs of 964's out there that some people think are worth £££'s ( same with 993's )

Just trying to find a really nice , well maintained rust free 964 C2 manual is a battle , before the issue of £'s even come into it
