Dunno guide was 250-300. It was purchased I recall in 2013 from paul stephens for something like 85-95. I remember speaking to him about from Heathrow airport before i bought mine. It has been restored by a proper outfit. It's got nice heritage and all that but even so. A new ceiling.
I guess - I can only see them getting more expensive - they are such a beautiful bit of design - I can't think of anything like them from a longevity evolution point of view - 50 years of lineage and still evolving . I guess the only problem is at this level it's getting risky to drive them , which is a crying shame - either way , it looks like the ship has left without me RSVP911 said:

Come on Mark, you DESERVE it! A 2 yr drought is 2 yrs too long.
(Irony: mark sold. 6 gt3 to buy the s that he now regrets selling, whilst I want Richards RS rep but he is selling his 991 gt3 instead which Mark WILL buy. Anyone want to be a dealer?)
So , you have the S that I want and can't afford and I have the RS that you want - but the only thing that would make me part with it is an S - so all I need to do is win the lottery and we can talk ! Maybe if Mark bought my GT3 - I could swap my RS for your S and add a bit ! So Mark - how selfish are you stopping this deal happening - I would even offer you special discount - only available to Doctors called Mark ! (Not that you need it as it's priced very well for a car with such a magnificent spec - lol )(Irony: mark sold. 6 gt3 to buy the s that he now regrets selling, whilst I want Richards RS rep but he is selling his 991 gt3 instead which Mark WILL buy. Funny old market.
To my eye that's a far more attractive car than the black ex-Hamilton car. Stunning colour.https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/22723/lot/336/
Funny old market.
The only thing that grates about it is:
catalogue description said:
The odometer was reset at time of restoration and currently displays a total of only 175 miles.
If I was in a position to buy that car I'd be taking it back to the restorer and having them reset it back to the original mileage (plus any addition miles added by that point). To me, how far a car has travelled in its life is part of its story, and should be displayed proudly.thegreenhell said:

I agree, its a crazy practise. Is it supposed to imply something about the quality and/or extensiveness of the restoration? Who decides that the restoration 'warrants' a zeroing of the odometer?
Isn't it what has always been known as clocking. Obviously it's a classic car and I doubt it is hidden in any way but I'm curious, what is the legality on this with say the DVLA?Edited by ian_uk on Sunday 28th June 22:32

Plenty of us still happy to rag the tits off our 2.4S 's , 5500-7200 rpm is where it all is , and narrow twisty quiet northern roads are the place to really appreciate one 8)
I'm amazed you haven't been tempted to sell yours in this bonkers market. I offloaded mine for just over £50K years ago! Wish I hadn't obviously, but only for financial reasons. The market for these cars is just insane today.uktrailmonster said:

I've owned mine for over 12 years now & TBH the car is part of the family , but can't deny that temptaion to sell is getting closer :lol:Edited by hot66 on Monday 29th June 12:09

Should a 1973 car not have orange bars on the bonnet badge? For £ 393k I'd hope no other details were missed in the restoration.
