Well, it's official, mine is now advertised. I updated my excel sheet and priced mine a little below the competition. Will see if I get any interest. If not, I will enjoy her for another year !

Thanks for all your input everyone.

David.
£48k. Was that based on current asking prices or selling prices?

Bit of both and also the comments on here plus what I've read elsewhere.

Good luck with the sale - it looks a nice car. It's also similar in spec to mine (mileage/rare colour/C2 etc) - if/when you do sell it would you be able to share the sale price?

When the bubble does pop i wouldn't fancy having 45-50k in a 964 C2, ouch!!! great car at 25-30k but lets face it, its not 50k worth, the only reason people are paying it is because there is the belief that it is safe money or an investment not because it drives like 50k worth of car. As soon as confidence in being safe money goes it's back to just being an old 911 again.

That's interesting and a good sign. I will see what offers I get. I will also approach a few dealers to see what trade-in I can get as saves a great deal of hassle.

I don't see them dropping too much if at all really. Not beyond the normal cycles of the classic car market at least. There isn't going to be any more made after all and well maintained examples are rare.

Straight question then and be honest, how much did you pay for it, 20k? 15K? It's the same car and they weren't making them anymore when you bought it either i expect.

True, but it was under valued then ;-)

Agree I do think they were undervalued at £15-20k, but still don't think they're £50k.

But you can't blame anyone for selling high, if the market will buy at that price and your car does look like a nice example.

Your advert could do with some interior shots BTW! smile

Just to clarify, it was not a dig at your car, it looks really nice, i love 964's and it's in line with what others are asking, but as someone who is in the market for a new car with a budget of anything up to 60k i wouldn't be buying yours or any of the other at that price.

I think my car is a nice example but then I may be a little biased....

It's early days so I'll see how the interest goes. Good call on the interior shots though, I'll get some up as soon as I get chance.

A Cayman GTS, 996 0r 997 GT3, mercedes s class, F type jag, .......

Lots of cars and maybe it wasn't the best phrase to use so to keep things on topic i apologize for my choice of phrase.

What i was trying to get at is that we see a lovely 964 through rose tinted lenses, coupled to the fact that at the moment we all convince ourselves that it's safe money or an investment even, the average bloke in the street would piss himself if you pulled up in a 1990 964 and proudly told him you just paid £48 large for it.

Overpriced in your view, you mean?

Don't get me wrong, I wish they were half the price they are, but they aren't are they!
