964 C2 with 122k miles now at £39,995 .

Be interesting to hear what interest you've had Iddingtons.

Marmite colour I suppose, but looks really nice.

I've had a lot of vague / poor emails I've ignored but not much serious interest.

I lowered the price as watching the adverts made me think I was being a too optimistic before. I've also started to resign myself to selling now and think about what I can do with the money - always dangerous !

Any luck in the end? What did it go for?

Also anyone watching the market at the moment know what a 964 C2 manual very we'll looked after with top end rebuild would go for? I imagine when the sun comes out interest will spike

I don't think the sun will make that much difference. These cars are now too expensive hence the number of unsold examples in dealers forecourts. Big difference between cars that were in the 20's and mow all in the 40's. There have been nice examples at Yorkshire classic Porsche,RPR626,Kenny Dunn for months on end now and not shifting. One dealer I spoke to a year ago that he was stuck with a couple he had in stock but eventually an investor came along and bought both but he had NO other interest. All these cars are manual gearbox C2 coupes in nice colours. The ship has sailed!!

FWIW, I've just been for a blast in my beautiful 993 turbo. As lovely as it is, fk paying £100K+ for one! That's £50K for the car and £50K for the charm!

The sun has come out and I think the market will start emerging from its winter hibernation.

However, buyers are wary and fussy, IMO. It's got to tick a lot of boxes including truly excellent original condition, impeccable history, and low(ish) mileage, to get the premium prices. Plenty of average 964s to choose from.

Yes, too many overpriced cars IMHO. Honest cars priced well will sell quickly. There was a small orderly queue for mine and the first person bought it. A true gent that appreciated what the car had been turned into (fun road/track car) and will continue you to use it and evolve it for that purpose. smile

I decided to stop advertising over the winter and wait for the spring.

Then I bought a Porsche child seat so I can finally take the whole family out, and started dreaming of using it more this summer.....

My three year old daughter keeps asking to be picked up from nursery in my 'brum brum' car.

I think I'm going to get the paintwork detailed and enjoy it for a while longer !

Good on you - enjoy it. Mines on for £43k and imho it's an awesome example, already had interest. We'll see :-)

What car seat did you get how does it fit?

After trying numerous car seats and never being happy with the over hang, belt crunch or how far the seats were pushed forward by the bulkhead I finally decided to go for a Porsche Prince from EBay such as LINKY

It was something I was hoping to avoid as I wanted a new seat really but one came up for £25 with wear on the cover (importantly the shell was fine) so I took a punt on it. Once my daughter is a bit older (4+) I'll try a booster with a back such as the Maxi Cosi Rodi. Alternatively I might keep using the Porsche shell without the front bar and combine it with a ride safer vest ( LINKY) instead. That way she gets a bit more chest protection than just a booster with a normal belt.

I'm in the UK, so note that the ride safer vests aren't approved as far as I know, so you'd have to use the shell / or a booster in combination with it to meet UK law. It's just a little extra something to help keep little ones safe.

David.

Keep up buddy! Hope you're well. Didn't see me using it very much going forward so thought it best to move it on and let someone use it and take it forwards, rather than it standing round doing nothing. Glad to say that it's found a good new owner that will use and enjoy it. Bought a Cayman R to replace it which will be used more on the road with the odd track outing. smile

Sorry, hardly come on here these days. I was looking out for you at Oulton on Friday (and secretly hoping there would be a cake tin nearby....), but doing so by looking for your car. I always thought you seemed to get a decent amount of use out of your C2 with Euro trips and track days etc - Cayman R sounds fun though. If it's anything like the GT4's I was in on Friday it's very much a best of both worlds car.

Sold - loads of interest even priced in the forties. Simply not enough manual C2 cars for sale in good condition so in the forties is the right price this spring. I think they'll keep going up in 2016 for a good car even with high mileage

To think my 964 C2, 75k miles, black leather and air con with 17 inch cup wheels and teardrop mirrors was valued at £12k as the part ex when I shopped it in to get my 993 8.5 years ago.

The 993 will have appreciated in value but not to the same extent the 964 would have done. I had mine 6 years and enjoyed it, but had a 993 itch which needed scratching. The 964 was the poor relation at the time, now they are more appreciated.
