Hi guys I am looking for insurance for my mega-hot-rod built from an 88 3.2.

Long list of mods inc 3.8 motor. In my list I have:

RH (never answer the phone)
Flux £1300 hahaha
Hagerty £700
Footman James (not their cup of tea)
Henderson Taylor (to try).

Anyone else?

Cheers
Bert

Thanks. Now waiting for the quote from Locktons.
In the lead so far are Henderson Taylor with a very easy and simple service plus the lowest quote.

They do indeed thanks. They use Equity Red Star which is where most of the quotes are coming from and all now around the £400 mark. I presume at the underwriter end they see the same car come through multiple times from all the brokers as the owner phones around!

Are you going to be doing any trackdays? Might be worth giving these guys a call: http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/sportsc...

Hadn't really thought of them for road car insurance, but might be worth a try (although it looks like the excess is £2k - can't be right).
Thanks

Hagerty. My SC with all mods declared, including displacement increase, GRP bumpers, 7&8 Fuchs, was the same price as a standard car. I can't remember the exact figure but it was roughly £200 on 3000 miles a year.

Henderson Taylor I'd say.

I had the Tuthill green car, 3.2 competition engine, heavily modified, I think they were circa 450 last year for me.

Good to deal with, simple process and it includes 5 track days driving

That's where I'm at. Really straight forward, nice guy to deal with. Remembered me from before. Gets the job done!
