I was under the impression that OPC Sutton Coldfield were moving to just outside of Wolverhampton this year? I've seen what looks like a new OPC just off the M54 junction with the A449.

Anyone know what's going on with this, have they abandoned it?

I was advised they were moving to m54 recently, unsure whether this is still happening or not.

Yes, they are meant to be moving but as has been said, things have temporarily gone awry. I've a good contact there & will ask what the revised timing is?

No its not abandoned its their new home moving sometime in January and it will be a top facility.
The builders did go bust but another company is completing it.
With the majority of the existing team at Sutton all moving there its going to be one of the UKs best.
For some of us it will be a bit further to drive but well worth it.

Thanks for the replies. The new site is a lot closer to me so I'm happy about the move. Last time I was there they said it would be June, seeing the building half finished last week made me think it was a no-go. Good to know it's still happening.

Good bit of news, then.

I travel past this on my commute and was under the impression that they'd cancelled their move.

Glad they still plan on setting up there, I'll be able to stop by now and then to have a peak at the stock smile

For the avoidance of doubt, are you saying Sutton was better than Solihul?

Very handy for me too. I'm not tied to OPC/warranty with my old banger, but as it's a distance to a decent indie, it might prove useful having them so close. I could nearly cycle home from there, at a push.

Looks like wolverhampton more becoming porsche country compared with Sutton. Better sell up and move to wolverhampton.

I wouldn't laugh

I assume they're taking advantage of the i54 development as it's right next to Jct 2.

Yes definitely will be a good deal to be had in the move. However the location is mainly down to Porsche GB who want belter representation out that way combined the lack of suitable larger sites in Sutton. They will try very hard to maintain their relationship with their loyal customers they currently have by collecting cars etc. The team at most Porsche dealerships generally are good once you get to know them. However sometimes it takes time to break through a hard shell to get there. They have to deal with so many chancers, dreamers and time wasters once you have got past that its all happy. The team moving from Sutton are amongst the best, every department is full of talented people who care. What's more they have a young enthusiastic CP who represents the brand perfectly. The new showroom will be significantly larger than the old one. Will be Porsche`s latest's dealership and probably their best. I have dealt with Sutton for 13 years and believe me within the motor trade they are superb. Most of the team have been there during that time. If they moved to Mars I would still buy my cars, parts and choose to have my cars serviced with them.

Does anyone have further news on this move? Will become my closest OPC if still happening. I know they had delays due to the builders going bankrupt or something, but heard little since.

Edit - just seen an ad for jobs at Sutton Coldfield but must be able to move to Wolverhampton in around April 2016. Does this sound right?

I passed there weekend before last en route to a (disastrous) downhill mtb trip at Antur Stiniog. All the shiny logos etc. are up on the building and it was looking very well in progress so, to be brief, yes, April looks eminently possible.

True, but it has been almost like this since mid last year biggrin

Ah, I see. It was the first I'd seen of it TBF. Well there were signs of activity inside; lights on etc. but it was early in the morning (for the weekend at any rate - before 0800hrs) and I'd yet to drink the flask full of coffee I'd got in the van, so observations are not perfect!

When I spoke to them last week I was told most likely to be nearer June.
