At the time I preferred mine with but given that time again I would probably choose one without.

I'm going to sit on the fence and say both, depending on the model.

C2S and C4S widebodies look great without, but then you can't argue with the sheer aggressiveness
(if thats a word, of its not, it should be) of the RS/GT's.

I mean, look at them.

The Red Gt2 is my dream car and colour. Had a red RS for a while. It now resides in Oslo

Yep. The GT2 and club sport must be amongst the most iconic 911's ever built. I think that if the car sits low and is of a similar spec the spoilers work fine. It is after all perfectly normal for people to mirror the look of iconic versions of the cars that they drive. What doesn't work for me is if the car sits high and does not have the correct stance.

All subjective of course

Well mine came to me with, and after nearly 3 years I'm still undecided.

I keep looking for a standard rear spoiler from time to time but complete units rarely come up for sale.

I remember you posting on here when you bought your 993. It must have been one of the most expensive spec'd NB 993s ever smile

Personally ..... and this is where it all gets a little confusing, I actually believe it looks correct. Basically because its worn its suit since new. Lovely car.

Just to really get some of the ladies' (on here) knickers more twisted that is a non factory fit Techart rear spoiler IIRC which Porsche GB decided to brand as Tequipment back in the day.

I say if you are really into the car for the long run and not just a flipper buy lots of spoilers and swap 'em round when you get bored.

I like my narrow bodied 993 without a fixed spoiler.

I also like the small lip spoiler which goes on the standard lift up spoiler. My dad had one on his 993 20 years ago and I always thought it looked well.

Thanks for the kind comments Wozy, thats why I'm a little undecided because it does look right. Although I equally like the clean lines of an unspoilered 993.

You're right it is a Techart spoiler front and back, but it's also got Techart rear boxes and front brake ducts. So I've no idea when this was all fitted. There are a few around with Techart spoilers, I think Porsche called it Aero kit 2?

I quite like the look of the duck, but that vertical 'wall' looks like a whole lot of drag to me...

Almost like asking who likes marmite.

I'm a with for the record - oh and I like marmite wonder if there's any correlation?

Did anyone think GT2 and RS would get to the level they are now........ Takes all the fun out of owning them as far I am concerned. I fall into the "drive enthusiastically with silly grin on face camp " not "the "bonnet licking camp" so no point having one at these prices. Still love the 993 GT2 and RS though and always will.....actually any red Porsche GT,RS or Club Sport I would find space for in my garage come to think of it smile

Without real data and the knowledge to read that data relative to the rest of the aero effects of the body, I guess this discussion is a non starter!

Why dont we save a load of time and just agree to conclude that I am right and you are wrong.

It simplifies things. Works for you? biggrin

I probably have more experience of looking at the rear spoiler of that car than anyone else. To add insult to injury it spits fire all over the front PU if you actually manage to get close enough.

It is seriously quick - the spoilers definitely help.....

It's a race car so as always function over form but in the flesh this car has a serous presence and does not look out of proportion. It is prettier from the front but it's not a view that I enjoyed often.
