My son has lost his wallet, containing cash, bank card, driving license and Social Security card.
We've cancelled the bank card, but what do we about the other stuff?

Cheers.

cash is gone.
Cancel the bank card.
Apply for a new card license.
I presume you mean NI card? - I lost mine 7 years ago, but I remember the number. If not, apply for a new one.

Log them all as lost.

Give the cops a call to see if it has been handed in. Work backwards and retrace your steps, physically if possible, or by phoning any retail establishments where it may have been left. It might also be worth putting a 'shout out' (to use the contemporary vernacular) on Facebook as increasingly this seems to be where lost property makes an appearance.

Incidentally, what is a social security card? I have never seen one. It sounds like something American to me, do you mean a National Insurance Card?

1) Apply for a replacement licence and NI card.

2) Give him some more cash.

3) Get him a wallet that attaches to his bks by a piece of string so he'll never lose it again?

Only 2 of the above are serious!

BTW, I don't care whether you use the merkin version 'license' or the non-US version 'licence' - seems a bit pointless to have a different spelling for the verb and the noun.

Mental block! NI card is what I meant. Have already logged with police, but the links posted above help, thanks.
You say license, I say licence, we all know what we mean though.

The dozy tt will be regularly reminded about the time he lost £160 plus about 50 euros. I wish I'd got that much in my wallet.

The links posted for replacements above are both third party sites, so we'll be using the official .gov ones instead, but cheers anyway.

'Lost' my wallet 3 times,
1) Someone saw address on license and came to my door
2) Someone found me on FB from my name and told me
3) Called police, they had it handed in.

I am probably a bit lucky. Times 2 & 3 cash had gone, but its the unwritten code of, take the cash and get my my cards back. I had cancelled the cards on 2&3 though rolleyes

I'd give the police a call, they have a massive stash of lost wallets, and hope for the best

Overcharging agent's site! Avoid! All those services are free from HMRC of course, no point using an agent if you can use a telephone. The plastic cards are obsolete, and were never required anyway, you just need to know the number.

do NOT use either of those links. They're commercial services which don't really add anything to the official services offered through the .gov.uk site. They'll cost more.

You don't need a NI card as long you have the number

My NI number was lost a long time ago, I just keep an electronic copy of a payslip somewhere so that I can download it to see wheat my NI number is, never needed the car in the past 15 odd years.
