I've always fancied an early zed 3. Obviously any older cars have developed problems .
Has anyone had experience of these cars and therefore offer any do s and donts when viewing any early examples ?
Any advice welcomed .

Hi,

I owned one many years ago. It was nice too look at, but my only criticism would be the driving position. I felt like you were always sitting on the car and not "in it" like a Z4.

But its all down to personal choice.

Do: buy a 2.8

Don't: pretend to be James Bond in Goldeneye. (Maybe the wrong film)

Do - Buy a 6 Cyl model the bigger your budget the more options and extras you get.

Don't - Make sure it's had regular oil changes quite a few are showing signs of abuse now (worn rings etc)

I restore these Z3's as a hobby feel free to PM me.

Joyceyboy, have you any idea how to rectify an EEP_1 error in the instrument cluster please? My 2.2i Sport had a flat battery and ever since, in cool conditions, the odometer reads EEP_1 and only the speedo works until a restart after a warm up.

To the OP, I agree, a six cylinder definitely, and as late as you can afford. I bought mine in 2009 and intend to keep it as long as I can still get into it! I love it.
