Porsche 928 noise from passenger side (and its not the mrs!)

hi, I know this subject has been posted before and I'm not sure if its the same as some of the previous diagnosis but thought I'd reach out to you experts.

I recently sold my Cayman 981S and purchased a lovely low milage '88 S4Auto (I'm a londoner!). The car drives great but there's a drone/whining noise coming from the passengers side which is characterised as follows:-

- no noise when the motor is running idle when stationary
- the noise gets progressively louder the faster the car is driven and becomes quite irritating over 60mph
- there's no change in tone etc when changing gears
- it is occasionally a little more quiet for the first few miles but then kicks in

So I'm not sure if its the fuel pump, water pump, gearbox?? Any pointers welcome. Many thanks : )

Sounds like a wheel bearing.
