Very weak blower/fan - 993
Discussion
Probably as well to replace the whole fan unit. The engine compartment one is a) cheaper and b) easier to access.
It's nearly 30 years old and will have had a lot of use so changing the motor rather than just the bearing might be a good option.
Non Porsche part available for £180 and in stock currently................

Thanks both. Another question (sorry) - why is my engine bay different to the one I found online on a youtube video - the first photo is the one I found which appears to have a specific "intake" for the blower and the second is mine. Is this a difference between pre & post varioram updates (not that it is necessarily related to the varioram)...??? Mine is a 94 and I think the red one is a 96.
Interestingly, looking at the underside of my engine cover, there appears to be a square opening that would roughly match the intake on the first photo?

First one is the same as my ‘96 VR, I’m sure OC will confirm the same on his - I think OC has had his even longer than me (2008)!
2008? Wasn't that last year? What's the date?Yes VR setup upper photo same as my '96... but in my preV ignorance I was going to suggest maybe your car had a fixed wing at some time in the past - shows how wrong that would have been
Here's a full bay shot of preV loaned from the interweb.
...but here's a preV with the later air/blower setup?
.....so the blower/airduct changes were probably simple evolution over time.... or the owners changed things over time..... or something else
