Read on a F430 buyers review that DK Engineering weld the manifolds for a fix - anyone corroborate?

Had a good chat with Longlife in Bridport. They do a pair of stainless manifolds for £2K fitted. Any experience of them?
I have had them fitted to my car for over a year with no problems. I think they have a life time warranty too. I did notice that the car feels more responsive. I also have there kline cat back exhaust fitted (the rear bumper had to be removed for this which was a pain). The combo sounds dam good though. The manifolds they fitted to my car don't have heat sheilds or any type of coating.

Has this given you any problems? My understanding is that heat build up would be too high and therefore it was important to have some kind of shield/coating.

Glad to hear if that is not the case however!

I'd be worried about the lack of heat shielding, with how close the manifolds are to the fuel tanks the last thing i'd want is any extra heat build up in that area.

The problem with welding them, is that the tube walls are very thin, welding is a poorly applied bandaid IMO.

No not had any problems with heat. There is good clearance in the design of the manifolds and how they fit.

Good to know. I guess the manifold could be wrapped with exhaust wrapping which would suffice.

I'd fully agree with this and add that it would be really difficult to prep the pipe for welding.
The only real option is to replace the whole section from the flange to the collectors.
