Off to the factory tomorrow to spec mine......Atelier slot came up at short notice a couple of weeks ago from my dealer.....will see whether I can get the spec I want...ie only 25k extra.
When is your car due Colin?
My Atelier is October, as shut August and September this year, and not able to fit in a trip this month.
So, going to the factory/ having an appointment with the Atelier - is this any different from the 'spec' room at a dealers? Do they know more; have better facilities; ....? Or is it just that: going to the factory rather the spec room at a dealer?

Thanks.
Bet its harder for the 'punter' not to achieve Ferrari's £40K extra's target sat at the factory thats for sure....smile

Glad you enjoyed it and spec was not an issue.
Your experience reflects mine when I specced my Speciale there.Didn't get to meet Fernando though so guess I'll have to do it again some time.Look forward to seeing pictures of car when delivered.

Looks like you had a great trip Colin.
My car due March 2015, Atelier trip booked for October.
You now get photos emailed of your car on the production line being built, great for the history file.

Seeing Alonso was just pure chance, food at Montana was superb....was good to see all the options and colours on the car,and they'll pretty much do what you want, I wanted the rear flaps painted the same as the diffuser as not going carbon.

Yes, fantastic experience, it's a great way to spec a car and something to look forward to.

The front aerodynamic fins are white/silver if you don't go carbon and I don't like this and don't want the carbon, so will ask about this in October. Only extra carbon I am ordering is engine bay and front wing tops.

So what colour have you decided on and are you going NART, racing livery, black roof or plain?

Yeah the front flaps and louvres and the side shark fins can be finished in any colour you want, no problem.... After seeing all the cars I decided on Rosso Scuderia with NART stripe, was going to go with the F1 2007 colour which is nice, but with the NART would be crazy money, the Rosso Corsa with NART just lacked the pop of the Rosso scuderia, the car without the stripe in my opinion looks bare....and seeing all the combos in the light does make a difference....and another thing I changed was went with the matt black rims instead of standard after seeing a few cars with them..makes the car look even more race car like.

This thread has whetted my appetite. I love the atelier idea (need to have a go at least once) and quite fancy a Speciale spider, which I'm told is coming. Problem for me is that I bought a 12C Spider last year and don't want to sell - the car is a revelation IMO - and also own a Stradale in the 'saleable' spec but which I love.

A new Speciale would probably have to mean one of them goes. But which one? Or, stretch for all three - but really, would I get the use out of all of them? I doubt.

Don't think I want a Speciale coupe though; if I swapped the Strad for it, I suspect I would lose a wedge of cash if the Spec followed the Scud depreciation profile (not in itself an issue, but does become so when swapping a much loved Strad). Whereas at a guess the Spec spider might follow the 16M and depreciate very little? I do think being the last and best of the V8 n/a line will count in favour of Speciale ownership.

First world problems...!

More first world problems, to stripe or not to stripe..... Unfortunatly I like it with and without (grey stipe) salesman is giving me a hard time that without the stripe it will be so much less saleable (strangly does not think white/gold will be an issue but then the stripe costs £6000 so maybe not so strange he is pushing it) which I am sorry to say does make a difference to me. I like the idea of plain white that I could put stripes on later if i wanted (not painted)and also change the colours if I fancied a change. I like to think I will keeep this a few years but then we all say that...smile

So question is, stripe costs £6000, will the car be worth £6000 less than others smile or will it be worth £20000 less..... frown

Crappy pictures I know, 100% on white with gold wheels plus carbon wing vents and front flaps..

Nice.

Doesn't the Scud look dated next to the Speciale.
